My crazy contraption worked for the Hertz van. I had to cut about 5 in off the top with the sawzall but actually worked out great for holding the planes.
Actually, last time I went, I took 8 models I think - all my designs - but none were flyable and only for demo, more's the pity.
I'm also hoping that someone will step up - or an alliance? - to get the ISR going again. I have to admit that this is really a personal thing with me as the first time I went was in 1986.

It was great yesterday, started light and built to almost 40, then another few calmer hours in the evening. Today has been light at best, even a DLG landed out at the beach.
@Nigel what can you tell us about this old timer? It flew great on the front face. But I saw some issues with the slow flight (landing approaches). It looked like you need a lot of reverse aileron differential. I use reverse differential in all my set ups where the ailerons are used to supply us with added drag. I think your radio can do this. Heck, I know we've been able to do this with radios going back to the early 80's with my Ace microPro 8000. I hear some folks claim that they loose aileron control (roll) in crow or spoileron. With reverse differential I've had adequate roll control with the ailerons up. Mike Shellim's templets have this.
Just rolled in from another fantastic weekend. Thanks to Jeremy and Wayne for all the effort. This is a really fun event, so glad we camped this time. Lots of great flying and a ton of carnage to go with it lol.
It was great seeing old friends and meeting plenty new ones., and I only bought 1 new kit lol.
