Now that's just crazy...but isn't it an absolute joy to see people getting so much FUN out of something like this?
I mean, take the most unlikely, foamie, broken, ex-power, super un-aerodynamic (you would think) model - that even shouldn't fly that well, if at all on the slope - and make it do respectable DS and lovely sharp aerobatics?
Its laughable! Literally! In fact, dare I say it...its fun!
I for one got a real boost just from watching that fun-filled video (twice); made my entire day in fact.
Now compare that to the steely-eyed, haemorrhaging wallet, super focussed, SERIOUSLY Serious attempts to wring the last Mph out of a dedicated DS model that normally you can't even see on video as its going too fast? Is that really fun? For some it is, I guess, but me?
I like the good old grinning, giggling, silly stuff like this. Of course the fact that Bruce is obviously a very accomplished pilot, and could probably fly a refrigerator with a broken ice box and make it look good is a big help, but overall? Its just Firetrucking OUTSTANDING FUN!
So I ask myself: am I wrong to spend so many hours calculating, drawing, developing and refining my designs to do as many jobs as possible, as well as possible? No I don't think so. Why? Because I want to make models that you CAN do silly things with, and that CAN fly in a howling gale and can fly in the whispy lift at the end of the day, but most of all, models that you can have fun with - your way.
Cheers, and thanks again for the video.
