was looking for videos on the Ka8 i won, found this old video of alex.

That is a old one! It was a fun plane able to fly well under 10mph. We still have one NIB with 2 spare new fuses and one wing set. I don't think we will do much with it anymore. BTW, the canopy for that thing is an unobtanium now - it might be a good idea to secure it better. The other things that are not available is the plastic bridge piece going over the wings and the horizontal/elevator assembly..

Was talking to Kyle, who donated it. Will probably put some white kite rods top and bottom to stiffen up that wing and wrap it in iron on laminate. No flappy wings!

Being so light that Ka8 is most enjoyable in <15 I think. In the video it was 20 and it was flying like a scale foam... They are very popular still down south for their summer months, 10 mph winds. It can be set up for light towing as well.

Does anybody know who has the other video of my Hawk crashing? I was trying to find where it follows it more down to the ground but couldn't remember who had it.

I guess I need an idea for another big janky plane. Was thinking about remaking the speaker wing but with a slope airfoil and setup. Unlike that crappy powered one I had before that was scary to fly on the slope.

I like the speaker plane/night flyer idea. I think I may try to figure that out.

Ryan and I got into what I could arguably be called, quantum entanglement.

And as long as I am mentioning Patrick...might as well show off the bedding he brought with him, and though you can't tell from the image, it is wrapped in saran wrap (and yes he brought a 3' wide roll of it to rewrap it (which we didn't end up doing as my tent proved to not be waterproof))

I was jealous of that sleeping pad.
Costco apple pies need to be at every potluck from now on.
I like the spot we did the potluck this year, way less windy. Sorry patrick it was so loud at night right next to your tent, that was us last year :)
Would be fun to try out the group spot if we can, but we will really want some contributions towards that spot as its what like $3-400 a night?

Funny you mentioned the group camp. The first year I came to the event it was with my wife and we stayed at a hotel, but when we drove into the area, the first thing she asked was why were we not all in the group camp. I think it would be cool, except for the longer walk to the hill.
Oh, and I have brought a pair of the Costco apple pies for the last 3 years...they are pretty dang tasty! :)
