Sweet. I suppose I'm gonna bring a cooler full of snacks, drinks, a lawn chair, and hopefully 2-3 gliders. I just got a really cheap Discus on RC Groups. I've heard it will need a couple mods to strengthen it up as it comes with a flimsy carbon wing joiner. But someone is bringing me a very special ship that I ordered... Both of those planes will be maidened there. Just gotta get a bunch of reps in before I arrive so I don't look like a complete donkey on the sticks lol. I don't want to hear, "Hey... Watch out for that Shoelace guy. He's all over the place." Haha.

@Shoelace These are the perfect places to maiden planes. Lots of guys flying planes longer than i have been alive lol. Couple hobby shop owners, airliner pilots, couple Nasa SUAS pilots...
##edit: by that i mean lots of guys that can help out and are helpful (not critical).
For sure im going to talk to someone about the flight path and landing areas before i maiden my 4.5m ship.

I took the Ahi out again today... I little less wind than yesterday but had no problem keeping her up. The thing that was so cool today and that I forgot about over the last 35 years... Damn I'm old... Moving on... Was how cool it was when the birds start circling around the glider and seem to be either curious, playful, or whatever it is. I had a bunch of them following my Ahi around. I was flying for a good 60-90 minutes today. Jure showed me a spot that's just south of Mussel Rock, maybe a few hundred yards that he calls, "The Dunes." I find it to be a much nicer spot than the Mussel Rock launching area. Lots of ice plant to land in, too. But if you stand on this northern point, you can avoid the sun and use the bowl that's a little north of there which provides a lot of lift... At least it did today. Didn't feel too many rotors around that area, either.
The cobwebs are coming off little by little...

Just cleaned the dust from our Oly II and Aquila. Now looking for the high start
Alex decided he will get the dust off the RnR Nova tomorrow.

Last year' forecast was off also, we ended up flying them all, with a big smile..
