Loved it! Thanks for bringing that and keeping it going!! Was really handy to jump over and check out the head unit at group camp too.
We saw everything from zero to almost 50 mph during the event.
Here is a picture when it was close to zero on FRIDAY. We have never taken a group photo on a Friday. Friday was very well attended.
And a picture when it was close to 40 on Saturday and the result of a little FAST plane hitting a much larger plane.
She shall be reborn and returned to flight! She was ripping until she made impact.
Last summer, I came into possession of this big blue flying wing from a nice widow of a slope pilot. (Which we now know is a Robbe Vampir) As the Sunset slope fun fly is a few months away, I'd like to get it up and running. The only issue I have is that none of us here at Aloft know what it is! Do you?
Easiest plane I have ever launched. Just hold that stub tail in your hand and let go. Even in the big wings the thing does not try to roll around. Jarron got really good at landing her even though she has some tiny little "flaps". Jarron says he flew her for about 4 hours during the event.
I have gone to all sorts of flying events and I think Sunset has a little magic mixed it that makes it special. Folks are warm and friendly, flying is great, and the added mix of camping and hanging out really makes this a special event.
I too would like to have been there. It reminds me of the fun we used to have flying the Columbia River Gorge in Eastern Washington!
But now that Sunset is over, can you finish up the Ridge Runt manual for those of us who can only wish and GRIN?
I did not see a single picture of the "Runt" or a single comment on how many were there, I expected to see a bevy of them based on all
of the apparent interest.
Also was happy to see and hear about the Mini Wanderer it's good looking little ship.
We had 3 Ridge Runts in attendance. I had hoped to see more of them there, but think folks ran out of time to build them. They were very well received and heard many positive things from the builders and the folks that saw them flying. Folks commented that they really enjoyed the classic looks and low lift performance. We will be developing the foam core wing for it later this year, but for now, YES, need to get back at the electric build. (Still playing catch up here from the long trip.)
