Los Banos build thread for everyone

I've printed and flown both the mizmo and the manta from Geode, they both rip and are actually pretty durable for 3d prints. They require some pretty good lift to fly well(at least on my slope).

I love 3d printed stuff to practice ds laps. When they eventually hit the ground and explode you can just laugh and print another.

I've really been enjoying the pilatus b4 from rc3dmarket.com also. It has a 2300mm wingspan and is super fun to fly. Being a noob I was always trying to throw the smaller stuff in lightish wind with mixed results, but when I started flying the pilatus I was amazed that it flew way better while being way heavier. Im guessing the bigger wings and wing type are the reason?

Anyway, really interested in this nylon filament your messing with. Sounds awesome!

I’m in the home stretch and nearing completion. The Spada is done, and the A-6 is done. I’m second guessing bringing the 100” Ridge Runner. It’s a one piece wing, not sure if I have room for it. We’ll see 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have 2 winches and a retriever for sale I could bring to Banos. They are older homemade type, but functional. I also have a molded 3M TD plane, the name escapes me at the moment. I can post pics later if anyone is interested. I'm open to offers.

picture of the TD is always nice..

Here are the two winches and retriever. In the bucket there is at least one more spool, a foot pedal and turn around. There is more stuff in there but I didn’t unpack it. I’d like to get $150 for it all.

The F3J plane is an Onyx JW for “Joe Wurts”. The span is 136”, so it’s a big bird. It is full of servos, looks like HS 125’s in the wings and JR digitals in the fuse. This one is in very nice shape. No breaks or repairs. The vertical has a rattle can florescent orange spray job that would probably come off. Along with an adjustable hook in the belly, there is a taped on skid on the boom and a sketch at the front. This is a really nice plane with minimal clean up. This thing will probably thermal on a gopher fart. Looking for around $350.

Open to offers on all.

Adding a Hawkie with servos and a Hobie project to the for sale pile. It’s nice, virgin wings and tails with no breaks, have a new canopy for it too.

Great trip! Unfortunately the wind gods were not appeased and we were blessed with the most incredible non slope weather possible. Even the thermal activity sucked for the most part lol. Those who brought E powered and DLG's had some fun. It was great hanging with everyone, so that is a win. The two planes I wanted to see fly the most, Nates DG-808 and my Spada were ground bound. I'll get the Spada maidened soonest. Looking forward to the next get together!

Sorry to learn the weather was poor, well little or no lift. It takes a lot of will power to not throw out ships one has been anticipating to fly for a long time.

I’ve flown many a maiden to the bottom of the face only to learn nothing of the aircraft.
Good job guys NOT doing that!

Yeah, it was an electric event. :(

Got about 10 minutes of pure glider time Saturday morning. Some of the guys kept throwing the gliders out and making a few circles.

There were some booming thermals out there though!
