The Gremlins should be landed as soft as possible. Depending on the build batch, it can have a rather brittle adhesive holding the wing top and bottom. The fuselage should be fine, but the wing and horizontal may pop a seam if they are hit too hard. This is why Hammond switched to a much better manufacturing partner many years ago.

I'm cleaning up my Golden Hinde that I made a few years ago.

The problem with model ships is that they collect dust, which may be why they are put in bottles!:LOL:

Making the wood parts is OK, not too hard, but oh, those strings, man!

Doc.

Nope - We do not offer those. Good item for the local hobby shop.

If you all still have a local hobby shop, give them some of your business! We are losing our hobby shops across this country. :(

We do actually have a shop in Ukiah (30 minute drive) but they mainly focus on Ground vehicles. I think they do carry some horizon planes, but they are not really a plane shop.

Yeah, we have a shop north of us, actually two shops in the same shopping center. One is mostly ground stuff, but some of the employees fly Horizon foamies, and the other shop is used and consignment stuff, think it is all ground stuff. There was another shop in the local area, but the guy was more interested in smoking pot with his customers and eventually went out of business. Marin Hobbies has hung on through 2 or 3 owner changes, in the past it was tiny and the guy just ordered stuff from Horizon as people requested it. Have not checked it out since the new owner took over, but think it is more art supplies?

We had a pretty good shop in Novato. It had been there forever, and they sold doll houses, trains, holiday figurines and had a smallish room in the back as a RC shop that did ground and air. It was a really cool shop but prices were pretty high. They ultimately wanted to retire, but noone wanted to buy, right before covid someone offered them a ton of money for their building and they took it and liquidated the inventory. The buyer went bankrupt with covid before opening the doors to whatever they had planned. Now it is a fire and flood restoration business. Yuk.

There used to be a shop in Santa Cruz I would go to that had ground and air stuff but mostly big brand like parkzone, e-flite etc. They slowly moved towards games and toys and the RC selection died out. Not sure if they are still around or not but Im sure they dont have much RC if any now. The only other one I know of would be Sheldons Hobby's in San Jose area. They have a pretty large selection of both ground and air but its about an hour drive for me. We sometimes stop on our way to or from Santa Cruz if I need something.

If you're down in the San Diego area Discount Hobbies is super cool. It's really old school and has a bunch of planes hanging from the ceiling like all those shops did in the old days. They carry FrSky and Spektrum products. A lot of the planes that are hanging from the ceiling are for sale, and if you ingratiate yourself to the staff there's a BUNCH of cool shit in the back, like huge RC jets and most other things you can drool over. Worth a visit.

Hey guys;
In the last Single Stick kit I purchased, I got a wood panel for the rear of the TX. I did not get one of those with my
original kit. Can I still get one?
Tom

I heard rumor at sunset that Sheldon's moved to a new location? I think that was the shop??

Looks like they moved to 1155 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. strange part is their website still has the old address as well. I can't imagine that they are paying less for this space vs the one they had off of 101, unless they went a lot smaller sq. feet

Since Sunset, I have been looking at ballast options for my Forza and was having a hard time finding affordable tugnsten because the Forza can hold a bit of ballast. Decided to be budget friendly for now and got some solid brass rods off amazon then cut them up to make some slugs. Turned out decent enough and will work just fine for now.
