Thanks for the help Doc and Red. It will be on hold for the moment but Ill probably go back to it and try to make it actually fly at some point.

Finally got to go out and fly some jets after a few months. Got 5 successful flights in and got to watch some other awesome planes fly. My Uncle came out and took some super cool pics too. 😁
I made a BD5 sloper once - it flew great!

Doc.

I'm getting one of the little ones Garrett was flying at Sunset.
I was really tempted to grab that one that was posted on rcgroups after Sunset but I had already spent my airplane money so had to pass. Ill get one eventually Im sure. Look forward to seeing your build Red

Yep - a little tail heavy. Some nose weight and maybe a test flight on a less windy day to dial her in. :)

Had to laugh at the last video. Long build up to instant trouble. We have all been there. I have a plank prototype I built up about a year ago and never got it to fly at all. It was just pink foam and didn't not survive the insta crashes well at all.

We were all laughing pretty good at how unhappy it was and that last try was just icing on the cake. 🤣

Took me a while to figure out how/what to do with the servos on the aeroic gremlin wing but got an aileron servo in finally. Next 3 should go fast.

Went with threaded rod to plastic clevis on one side to L with keeper on the servo. E6000 premium glue

I was going to try and use the metal clevis but its geometry is like a triangle, its really wide where the pin is and i didnt want to keep making the whole thru the wing bigger so i switched to the plastic clevis you guys carry which is more like the shape of an H and much thinner.

lol good point, although not that night.

After thoroughly searching all shapes i came up on the little shot glass that is pretty perfect. The base is just slightly smaller than the diameter of the servos, so will fit into whatever whole i made for them, and the top of the shot is wider so it helps keep things stable. I probably should find something rubber coated though instead of a brick. I think this was a "how many minutes till i need to leave for work? ok lets do this real quick" moment.

I think all of us have some adapted tools which become invaluable. I have some large EPP core shucks that seem to fit most wings pretty well.

I also have a large collection of 1-2-3 blocks now. I don't think I could live without them.
