XSR-SIM Bluetooth Dongle so You can Fly your Simulator with your Taranis & Without a Cable!

I just received the new XSR-SIM. In case you don't know, it is a Bluetooth dongle/FrSky RX combo. Plug it into your computer, create a Simulator Model on your TX, and then bind them. Now you can fly your favorite simulator wirelessly with your Taranis. Thank you Aloft and FrSky. No more 15' USB cable strung across the family room to the computer attached to the TV. Cool stuff and my wife is happy. Beat that.

I have been flying the free download simulator from Multiplex's German web site (recomened) with a USB cable. I've been checking Aloft's site daily for weeks waiting for the XSR-SIM to arrive. Now I have mine. It was super easy to hook up and I'm an old semi-computer literate curmudgeon. I already had a model named Sim on my TX. So all I needed to do was plug in the XSR-SIM and follow the normal binding routine the Sim model selected on the TX. I was able to ignore the vague and confusing instructions about installing a driver contained in the manual. (While FrSky's manuals are constantly improving and are now pretty good, it would be helpful if they got a proofreader who was both a modeler & an English major.) There is a helpful video on the FrSky site on the XSR-SIM page. I did not need to go through the calibration routine shown on the video, perhaps because my TX and Sim program were already calibrated. Speculation on my part, but I'm glad I could skip that step. YMMV.

So for under $20 I eliminated an unsightly hazardous condition in my home and made my self and my wife happy. That's why I am an unabashed fan-boy of Aloft Hobbies and FrSky. And the XSR-SIM. Great Job All

Great to hear, and thanks to Sean here at the office for suggesting that FrSky make one of these. :)

Thanks, Wayne. You guys are my favorite hobby shop, period. Love your products, support of the hobby, and most of all, your customer service. Good business model!

Thanks! We are really lucky to have great customers and have a business doing something we love.

I just got my XSR-Sim which I use on my Mac with Aerofly 7. It is a little strange because none of the inputs change on the screen where it asks you to move all controls during calibration, but it does respond to centering the sticks and moving the sticks in specified directions. It uses all the mixes I have set up and the expos and dual rates. Glad I got it.

I bought an XRS-sim, but can't seem to find a simulator that recognizes it. I own Realflight 7.5 and Phoenix 5.5, downloaded the trial of Velocidrone, which only recognizes the X9D+ with a cable. Any ideas?

Just got my dongle and it is fantastic. After a quick read of the instructions, binding and a recalibration (in software) it has been running with my Taranis Qx7 in both Liftoff and FPV Freerider perfectly.

Just received my XSR-SIM bound it perfectly. I purchased Realflight 9 (RF) to practice flying and cant seem to get the calibration right. It shows up as gamepad but i see RF has a JR option which i selected. My stick movements in the calibration screen moves my switches. How do i get this to work? with RF?

As I recall older versions of Realflight will not work with anything but their own Realflight transmitter thing..

Sorry, I'm not going to be much help with Realflight, as I have never owned it. For calibration you may need to chat with their customer service, but I know from our other users that it does work.
