Convert it to lithium. Seriously. Especially for vehicles that rarely get used, this makes a lot of sense. My tractor will be going lithium when the tired lead acid gives up the ghost. We have done the same with scooters here. Just make sure you have a good BMS.
Thats a great idea, I just dont have the knowledge on how to do that currently. Maybe at some point I will spend the time to learn but just dont have the band width right now.

Is it a 6 volt battery?

For tractors and motorcycles we just buy the batteries ready to go. They are about the same price as a normal lead acid, or in some cases cheaper. Might be worth a little research to make sure it is safe. On a scooter or tractor, I'm not too worried.

Think the Model A is a Group 1 sized battery?? I see a few 6 volt options, but not many. See some lead acid for about $120. I'd think you could locate a suitable lithium for that price range, but not finding much.

Ah ok gotcha. Yea its 6 volt. The batteries I have found (lead acid) are all around that $120-$150 range. Ill have to do some research and see what I can find. Thanks

Might just grab one of those and buy a decent pulsing battery tender. Should extend the life another year or two. You want a pulsing version though. The cheap tenders will damage the battery with buildup on the plates.

Been having a lot of fun with the 1/24th rock crawler and my friends have been bugging me to get a 1/10 scale cuz that's what they do mostly. So I picked up a scx10 base camp as it's one of the cheaper options with a ton of aftermarket mods for later.

Did a diy mod so I don't have to use the body clips. Just some donut magnets and washers from the aloft store.

And then you can pick up 1/10 scale accessories for pretty darn cheap so I grabbed some stuff to make it look like it's going on four-wheeling trip.

I replaced the brushed motor with a nice brushless. I really like the brushless on these because they allow you to go super slow.

Just waiting on some aftermarket wheels and tires. The aftermarket wheels allow you to put lead weights inside to lower the center of gravity.

To make it more realistic all of the cargo needs to spill all over when you roll over, and have a bunch of stinky gear oil that can spill. But most important, the wrench box needs to blow up and all of the sockets and wrenches need to get scattered into the soft sand. Oh and there is always that guy in front of you that thought he would bring a long length of chain and let it slide around in the back of his vehicle all day.

Old memories. :)

Leisure Electronics PLAYBOY - Cabin version
This was a gift to me. Replace the 1981 servos,
build a firewall from G10 fiberglass plate from Aloft,
add motor, prop and ESC and she flys just great.
A graceful slow-flyer. Exceeds my expectations.
Next, I'll build a hatch.

Lovely.

Doc.

They are not far from being RC-able. :)

Love it! You going to fly up and pickup your race models? Free airport delivery.
You wouldn't believe the lack of luggage space. I "might" be able to build a sailplane-shaped box in the tail, but that remains to be seen.

They have some neat planes tucked away in the corners. The seaplane looks like an Albatross? If so, I got to fly in one of those once. Had to wash the plane for my ride.. Scary to be up on the top of a wing that high with water on it and glossy paint.

One of the messy projects at Aloft:

These equipment operators are getting younger and younger.

Final patches and slurry seal tomorrow. It won't be perfect, but it fits the budget and will look a lot better.

We removed a fair amount of the old asphalt as it felt like a sea of old asphalt rather than a yard. We still have a lot of parking and the delivery trucks can do their thing. The amazon drivers... not so sure. LOL Landscaping and fire hardening will be future projects.

Here is a temporary deck I added to our main steps. This gives you an idea of how much asphalt was removed in this one area, anything that is now gravel was asphalt.

Yes those steps are about to be replaced.. That is part of the deck project.. We have a lot of projects on the ol' homestead.

Had a nice long weekend. Spent it at a friends house, played some music. Than hit REDS for some lunch at the airport (Lampson Field) on sunday.

The last photo shows a couple of English Electric/Martin B-57 Canberra bombers, and a couple of Grumman S-2 Trackers. The Grumman Trackers I understand have been used as fire bombers, but the Canberra bombers? We have one flying here in OZ, part of a collection of vintage aircraft flown at airshows

CALFIRE still runs S-2 Trackers and some other cool birds like OV-10s.

We actually get to see a ton of calfire planes/heli's. Clearlake is the largest natural lake in california and is used during fire season for water if its close enough.
Most often we see the helicopters with the vacuum hoses.
