Mini Wanderer

Good news!

The kits are up on the website. If you like the kit and want to purchase it, now's the time! Better grab yours before it runs out of stock.

Good afternoon, everyone. I know that you are all eager to receive your Mini Wanderer kit
I made a small mistake in the orders that were sent today, 02/09/2024. I forgot to include a small package containing rubber bands, plywood parts, dowels, and magnets. I will be sending another shipment on Monday with the missing parts. I apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope that everyone receives their kits soon.

If you received the kit without the small bag that should have included these items, please contact us through the email contact@alofthobbies.com or here via a direct message, and I will personally arrange to send the missing parts.

I picked up my kit last week at the store (all parts accounted for) and after about two hours of set up and building the fuse and tails parts are framed up.

Everything goes together very well. I am using square and corner stock for reinforcement and to aid with corner sanding. The little hatch magnet and pre-drilled cables guides are nice details for this well thought out kit.

Onto the wings, then sanding, gear placement and covering before final setup.

I haven't covered a framed up wing in ages, so this should be interesting.

Use light covering and don't shrink too much until it is all covered. You won't have any issues,

How much better performance can be expected with appropriate brushless motor? It goes without saying, - better, in terms of climb, flight duration. But, will the difference be dramatic?
Never built glider of this size.
Thank you.

Probably not a lot. You need the nose weight anyway.

At this scale the brushed motor makes good sense, especially when it comes to economy. Switching to a brushless setup would make motor installation more complicated and costs would be $45 (probably more) when you add up the costs for the motor, ESC and prop, assuming you can locate a small folding prop that will work. (Most micro receivers will offer a built in brushed ESC.)

The brushed setup works well and has plenty of power for fun, or just a quick climb out for some more thermal hunting. We tried to show it's more spirited nature in the video.
