Did you know that Aloft Hobbies is the authorized repair and service center for FrSky in the USA? We can perform just about any repair or update needed to your radio, and we do our best to turn them around quickly.

We have seen just about everything from simple fumbles that damaged some switches, to cracked LCDs, RF issues, etc. Yes, we have seen plenty of radios that with firmware updates didn't have the intended outcome.

Update - May 30, 2023
We are no longer going to maintain our transmitter repair factuality at Aloft. We no longer have the demand as the FrSky radios are pretty rock solid these days, and FrSky opened up their own warranty center in California. Should we have the need for service we will be sending the radio back to FrSky for warranty repairs.

We will continue to be available for common issues like broken switches or antennas and we will continue to stock commonly needed spare parts to keep everyone going. We will continue our other FrSky services like receiver updates and repairs, firmwares, etc. But are dropping the transmitter repairs.

This will allow us to focus on future projects that we think you will all enjoy a little more. :)

For service, please email via out contact us page.

Right side of the bed.
Wondering if you have phrases like "authorized FrSky Repair Center" in aloft website meta data. If not -- highly suggest it. I've been surprised a couple times lately to learn that FrSky owners and prospective owners don't know that there is an excellent service option right here in the states.

We have not done a good job of keeping our site updated, or marketing all of the services we provide. We have some plans in the works to help promote things and spread the word. This new forum is part of the bigger plans. :)

p.s. Was out sick for several days - good to be back in the office! Sadly, half my guys are out sick. Seems to be going around..

Yes, we saw that. FrSky seems to have forgotten that we have been providing those service for their customers for several years. They have sent countless people to us over the years for help, makes no sense to me.

Has Fr-Sky added you to there "Advertised" list of approved service centers? Might be a good idea to ask Fr-Sky for this. This is assuming you want the trouble, sorry work.

From my experience I've had very good customer service in support of Fr-Sky from Aloft Hobbies.

I sent in a Taranis plus what would loose the RF link, on rare occasion (always on the ground). Aloft spent a lot time trying to find the cause and then attempt to repair the issue. They couldn't find it. (I have to give them credit for not making up a cause and then charging me for the fix). They did all the firmware up dates, again. Being as they did not have anything in the data base to say that firmware updates would solve the RF drop out I wasn't comfortable with the TX. I asked for a commercial customer support option. That is since I had lost all confidence in that particular TX that they sell me a replacement one at cost. Aloft agreed to sell me a TX at cost. I've recieved both my old troublesome TX and a new Taranis plus in short order. Both the new and old TX have been bullet proof. I'm thinking of now moving my old TX away from expendable foamy ships to real glass and carbon aircraft.

Hats off to Aloft for not only knowing that service centers deal with the technical aspects of the product. But that in the end it is the customer's comfort level that is the true mark of a job well done.

Folks, please think about this the next time you are looking to get a Fr Sky product from some other site. About all you'll get for customer service from these other sites is motion sickness from the run around!

We do our best to take care of our customers. I think we had changed out the RF board on your radio just to be safe.

FrSky is an odd company at times. When they announced their new repair partner in the US I was a upset. I contacted them and strongly suggested that they send a similar announcement about Aloft Hobbies stating we have been providing these services since before they ever sold a transmitter. But they back peddled and did nothing.

I called their new partner and they answered quickly, I told a little story about a problem radio that they should have been able to diagnose right away (bad firmware), but they were stumped. So much for them being experts. I imagine they are much better by now.

We have always provided this service. Early on we did it only for people that bought their radio from us, but we opened it up to all years ago, but they have to pay for the service. FrSky knows this as they have sent us problem radios over the years. But they seem to have forgotten to tell anyone else. :(

I wish I had a larger following to be able to help:) I do see lots of people clicking on links from me to you so that's something. Once you have your affiliate link program up maybe contact the various YouTube channels and offer a free X7 give away if they promote you. Maybe to enter they have to open a forum account and make a particular post somewhere?

Some YouTube channels may be willing to do a video on the benefits of using an authorized service dealer...

In terms of service, we are fine. If we got many more in the front door we would need to get another crew member to make sure we keep up with the load. We are out of space in the current building!

If you see fit to put some of your larger entry level glider on sale I might be able to drive up and help you out with your space problem;)

Wait, then I'd have the space problem!

Just purchased a X9D+ SE and want to put the stickers with the switch / pot designations on it, however, it appears the knob on the left and right front have to be removed To put the stickers on. I don’t see a grub screw securing the knobs to ther pot shaft. Does the knob just pull up and off? Don’t want to break my new radio because I didn’t know how to do something the correct way.

Pulls off with gentle tug with fingers only. It's just a keyed compression fit

Scott, thanks so much for the affirmation that I could just pull the knobs off. Got 'em off and applied the stickers. Quickly realized though, in the process as I had put on some of the colored nuts a couple of days earlier, that I'd have to take them off as well as the nuts on the pots, so off came the back again. Thought I could get out of that part...lol...:)
Thanks again!

Hi Wayne, could you please have someone from repair contact me. My radio has been in the shop since Feb 20th for silicone wire swap and rf check. It is now March 19th and still have no radio. I have left several messages and sent several emails but have not heard from anyone since March 5th. S I have missed several flying weekends so far but what is more frustrating is the lack of communication. Sorry to reach out to you on your forum but no other method of communication has worked so far.
Thanks,
Tone

Hey Tone,

Sorry about that. I just checked and the radio repair is completed, new gimbal wires and RF check passed. Chris was wanting to mess with the S8R, but had not done so yet. I have asked him to replace the S8R if it is any question about it and get this out to you. Very sorry for the delay and lack of response! No excuse for this.

Thank you for getting back to me. Sorry for contacting you on the forum. If its not too much of a bother could you please have them send me the tracking info when it goes out?
Thanks,
Tone

Hey Wayne... I'm confused. I've only got 65 years of electronic service experience and I just can't do this.
When you get 74 years old, you do dumb things. I dumb thumbed the antenna on one of my three S8R's and neatly yanked it out of the connector. So I went to my 'stock' of X8R antennas and tried one of them. Well, it seems the connector isn't quite the same. So I sent a message to your store e-mail and got a reply back that the X8R antennas don't fit and I needed "this one" (link to the right one). Well, that was out of stock, I queried your message guy again, he said they were going to ship from china soon. I got the message they were in stock, YES, so I ordered 4.
Well, today, I tried to install that antenna and it didn't want to snap over the connector. I did a little research and found that what was shipped was the same connector that the X8R antennas had. Those were the ones that came with the "Paddle" antennas as an option.
So, what does a guy do?

As far as I know, this is the antenna connector for the X8R:
https://alofthobbies.com/150mm-receiver-antenna-frsky.html
some of their newer and smaller receivers are using this smaller connector:
https://alofthobbies.com/frsky-150mm-x-8mm-dia-replacement-antenna.html

Which one did you buy? (The larger version also comes in the paddle style if you like that sort)
https://alofthobbies.com/pcb-receiver-antenna-frsky.html

I am not aware of FSky making any hardware changes to the X8R, so those larger u.fl connectors should do the trick.
