I've got an X9D+ and would like to swap out switch E for a 2 position short paddle type instead of the the stock 3 position short paddle type. On some of my planes I'm using switch E as the landing gear switch and a 2 position would simply work better.

Do you have any 2 position short paddle switches for an X9D+? If not, any idea where to look for one that would fit correctly into the molded area of the case?

We do not stock a short version. They can be found on electronics supplier sites, but they are a little spendy at those places.

I just checked Tower hobby for Futaba ML-1AFSP and they are out of stock until Mid July - but the good news is it's only $10.

I was able to find some SPDT 2 position switches with the short flat lever on clearance for $2 from Radio Shack that might work. For $2 it's worth the gamble. Plus I needed some other stuff from there anyway. When they get here I'll post the results.

Got the $2 2 position SPDT switches from Radio Shack, and they definitely will work. But in the meantime I salvaged some 2 position SPDT short paddle switches from an old Hitec Prism 7 transmitter that worked perfectly in the Taranis in the switch E slot.

When I turn X9d on with both lower trims to center, it just starts as normal. Just got this new X9d (non plus) that was never used. Trying to upgrade firmware. Have tried all kinds of ways.

I did load models from my current X9d plus, and put on SD card, is that an issue?? I have also tried without SD card, but centering the bottom trims does nothing, radio just boots up as normal.

Thankfully my old beater X9d Plus is still functional, barely (lost 2 lower push buttons, exit and enter - use a screwdriver).

Is this issue on X9D something that repair facility can fix??

If this is not a plus (and has not had firmware updated) - then you need to use the transmitter OFF method to flash new firmware to it. This will also flash the Bootloader to the transmitter. Certainly Aloft can do this for you - but I'd bet you can do it - perhaps with some coaching.

Thanks, I can try that, but it appears I have open Tx and Zadig on my windoze laptop. I may have to redo Zadig to bypass radio it sounds for transmitter off option. I'm still dazed from 6 hrs of trying yesterday.

We do our best to take care of our customers. I think we had changed out the RF board on your radio just to be safe.

FrSky is an odd company at times. When they announced their new repair partner in the US I was a upset. I contacted them and strongly suggested that they send a similar announcement about Aloft Hobbies stating we have been providing these services since before they ever sold a transmitter. But they back peddled and did nothing.

I called their new partner and they answered quickly, I told a little story about a problem radio that they should have been able to diagnose right away (bad firmware), but they were stumped. So much for them being experts. I imagine they are much better by now.

We have always provided this service. Early on we did it only for people that bought their radio from us, but we opened it up to all years ago, but they have to pay for the service. FrSky knows this as they have sent us problem radios over the years. But they seem to have forgotten to tell anyone else.

Wayne. For what it’s worth that’s the only reason I bought my QX7 and X Lite from you. All one has to do is read your Taranis page to see you are can authorized Service Center. Keep up the good work. I love Aloft.

Can you give me an idea of what it would cost to repair a radio... I know it depends on the part broken, but if the repair costs more than just buying a new radio I don't see a point. Currently my radio will not tun on. I believe something was shorted out, but I have no clue if it was the main board or the rf board. If either one of those needed to be replaced what are some price for the repair?
