Blejzyk ELF Electric version

Has anyone converted the Elf to electric? I think space will limit battery pack and ESC - I have a suppo A2212-10 motor but was wondering if anyone has done it and with what results. My goal is more on the torque side vs hi-end speed - enough to get it to altitude and thermal - thanks

Blejzyk does offer electric noses for all of their models. So if you have not yet glued on the slip on cover, that is an easy swap. If you have, then cut away as needed.

They work very well under power. Probably want to move the tail servos to under the wing so you have room for the battery and ESC.

thanks Wayne good advice - by slip-on cover do you mean the nose part that gets glued to the fuse, not the white cover itself, right?

it sounds like the white slip-on cover needs to be cut to have the motor protrude - the fibreglass part where the servos go needs to be cut

last question: if the wing has no dihedral cause originally it was a slope ship, will that affect it as a thremaling ship?

I'm not sure the Elf is the best thermalling ship to start with. But yes, when coring a thermal is is nice to have dihedral.

For thermalling performance, keep it as light as possible. Some of the Elf slope builds I have seen are rather heavy, hopefully yours is a lighter build.
