Reichard Rapid that I had partial built 5 years ago before "life happened" working on it when not working on the Cubic

I do not even know if Reichard modellsport is around anymore. I had one back in 2009 ish and well i only had it up for about a month and it did a spiral of death on an approach for landing. I got another one just never started on building it until 2019 ish then other things happened in 2020 to this year. The picture inside the fuse came as individual pieces of wood i had to epoxy together and the servo is for the rudder. the manual spoilers are piano wire driven. my elevator, rudder and the spoilers are driven by hitec 5085. I have some self driven servo spoilers that were too big and you can see probably some oddball covering to cover up my carving to try and make those fit.

The wings have MKS HV6110. Probably seriously over kill. in 2019 i ordered a CCM Toy from Flightcomp and was following on with his videos and had ordered these based off the first video about fitting in the flaps of the ccm but after everything got here and his videos were done. I ended up ordering another set of X08h plus to match flaps and ailerons on that plane for full span use.

The esc will be a repurposed scorpion 4s 45 amp esc from a wrecked 3DHS Velox. the motor in it is a MVVS 4.5/840 on 3s with a 11x7 prop.

tonight i put in the elevator servo in the tail with 15 min epoxy and tommorrow i will close up the back end of the tail. The hitecs are on hand so i had to do some widening of that rear servo hole to get it and the servo horn to fit properly due to height issues. But meh, ill figure out some how to put some monocote over the hole or something since its no longer round to fit the little circle piece of yellow fiberglass that came with the kit.

As far as I know Reichard is still around. My first warmliner was from him. It was a foam core wing and flew really nice. Flew that thing a lot. I eventually beefed up the fuselage as it liked to collect cracks, did a total rebuild. Flew it a lot more. Think I finally traded it to a buddy.

This one with the wood wing and t-tail may be on the fragile side of the scale, so may need to avoid the high stress stuff.

I have a Reichard Magic EP Glider, and I love it.
It is a 2M single piece wing aileron glider , so I have to be careful with its transportation.
A real floater.
It makes me look god !

draw back to using servos i have on hand. the elevator servo i put in is bigger than the access hole. I think they sent a generic multi glider purpose back piece of balsa as i had to do some sanding and what not to it to get it to fit and not interfere with where the t tail elevator screws into. sure hope i didnt mess up the servo as there is no going back in there to work on the servo as its now buttoned up with 30 min epoxy that was mixed with cabosil

It certainly is here is the web link. https://www.reichard.cz/

i couldnt find any of their branded planes. just some random eflite, kavan and aero-naut planes and some rc cars. like they went retail or something

did some more work on the tail of the rapid. The slots that came pre done on the rudder were off center "of course they are at the price point at that time which i think was 250.00" so i tossed the ca hinges and pulled out my robarts jig and pin hinges. did some vaseline on the hinge points and did a paste of 30 min epoxy with cabosil and then insert into the jig drilled holes. i moved the rudder to get some range of motion in and taped it for curing. Yes you see a stupidly over kill Sullivan golden rod tube in there. over gosh i dont know how many years, the tiny ones that came with the kit were damaged

Yeah, their kits had some rough edges, but if you take the time to fix the issues, I think they could all be pretty nice planes. Like you said, for the price paid... Not bad at all.

I am currently working this morning on the control horns for the 2 gliders. I am using jb weld and they are anchored with masking tape to help hold them in place as I didnt make an exact perfect dimension with the dremel for putting in the horns. In about an hour after it starts to "set up" ill go and check the alignment and tweak it again
the elevator is designed using an l bend servo linkage that slides into a tube so you can add or remove the elevator as needed
