X9 Lite S Firmware Upgrade

spudge

New User
Hello. I posted a question about an issue I was having with my X9 Lite S on rcgroups. I got a PM from FrSky with the suggestion that I download OpenTx 2.3.9 from the FrSky website and that should resolve the issue. I followed the link in the PM and downloaded the FW-X9LiteS-200617.zip file from the FrSky support page. There are no instructions in the zip file, nor is there an SD Card version of the download. The documentation for the radio itself is a mere pamphlet with no firmware update instructions. I can find no helpful information on the FrSky website, which leaves me with some questions.
  • Am I somehow missing some section on the FrSky website or is the support really so limited?
  • Is the firmware on the FrSky website special in any way, or can I get the same results by downloading from the OpenTx site?
  • What's the best way to update the firmware, given that there is no SD Card download on FrSky's support site?
  • Is it necessary to have a micro SD card in order to do the updates? I don't have one in the radio.
Thanks!

Steve

It would help us to know what issues you are tring to solve.

For OpenTX Firmware go to OpenTX.org
(You DON'T want to down load OpenTX from Frsky as FrSky cripples many of OpenTX's features).

For FrSky ISRM firmware go to FrSky products download. Make sure that both your RX and TX are the same higher level version.

Buy an SD card.
