X8R as D16 transmitter

With the DHT and XHT modules not being readily available, I'm working on firmware that runs on a X8R (or X6R) and turns it into a D16 transmitter.
It takes a CPPM input and transmits D16 protocol. It doesn't handle telemetry as the likely use for this is for 2.4G upgrades to "retro" transmitters.

I have this pretty much sorted.

This is fantastic news! Very useful for converting old transmitters to 2.4 ACCST D16 protocol.
Even better if the option to choose ACCST D8 protocol could be included.

This is FANTASTIC news!!!!
D16 plus D8 will make this X8R transmitter module a very attractive solution to upgrading old transmitters to 2.4.

Got three flights with the X8R transmitter module today hooked up to a Futaba 8UAF transmitter in ACCST D16 mode.
Everything worked great! Very pleased!

Will this firmware for the X8R also work for a X6R to convert it to a transmitter module?

I believe the X6R will work, it uses the same UNI firmware as the X8R. I partly chose the servo pins 5 and 6 to allow for this.

The firmware now supports D16 (V2), D8 and V protocols, and is also available for the D8R-II receiver. I believe it will also work on the D8R-IIplus and the D8R-XP although I haven't tested either of them.
