X20S Not Recognized by Windows

When I connect to my computer (Windows 11) the x20s is not recognized. In bootloader mode, the screen "blinks" and the computer does not see the radio. I hade tried three different usb C cords and get the same result. Any suggestions? I am running the latest version of Ethos. This is a brand new radio. When I installed the latest version of Ethos, this was not an issue. I think it is a Windows 11 issue, since this update came after I installed the Ethos update.

I suspect you are right. I didn't have any issues with Windows 10. Have you looked at the Windows device manager with your X20 connected to see if there are any devices with driver errors? Also, I can't remember if you get the option to install the Ethos app with Admin privileges, but that might be something else to check.

I wish they provided a Linux version of the Suite...
Do you have the x20 turned on before you plug it in? If not the computer won’t recognize it. When you turn your radio on first the power button will be blue and then when you plug in the usb cable it will turn turquoise color.

I figured it out. My laptop has two different USB ports. Apparently they have two different power outputs. When I moved the cable to the other port, all was well. Thanks for the input guys!

Welcome to the fun and slightly wild world of Windows computers where no two are alike. Glad you got it working, and thanks for reporting your solution.

Okay. The problem got solved. Following the solution that cowboychris provided in Oct. 2022 I connected the USB cable to some of the USB ports in the back of the desktop and everything worked great. The answer was there and it showed up after I posted my long description of my problem. Thank you all.
