X20 Tray

We do have the FrSky version in stock. Not up on the site yet. It is about $75 and does not fold up really well.

Eventually.. LOL Stuck in site update mode.. It is just annoying that the strap arms can not be folded down flat, especially for the price they charge.

I purchase the tray from hourus and after assembly realized the arms no longer fold flat. I emailed their support and below is there reply. I wish I read thread before.

Dear Philip,
Thank you for your e-mail,
I checked with the R&D department, the arms is only designed to fold for transportation. And we don't suggest you to fold it after you put the radio on,
However, thanks for pointing it out and FrSky will consider to do some optimization of this product in the future.
Thanks
Support

I consider their products to be well made, they dropped the ball on this one. I hope they make modified arms for the future. Beware if you used their tray.

Yep - We have not added this to our site just yet. FrSky is well aware of the issue and has been debating options. I have not taken a close look just yet, if there is an option for us to fix it, we will. Otherwise we may come up with our own design.

Here is a case solution for anyone who bought the Frsky X20 Tray with the arms that don’t fold flat after assembly.

I used a Harbor Freight water proof case. You need to put a stop under the left arm to keep it off the transmitter selector button. I use what I had on hand a servo disk and glued it on the rails. There is enough room for the case to close. Plenty of room for strap, charger battery checker etc. It is not a fantastic solution but it does make it usable. I also mounted the hand supports backwards, just my personal preference. I did not want to assemble and disassemble the tray every time I used it. Hope this is a help.

Bad design, I'm afraid. It would have been pretty easy to ge that right.

I think this sometimes happens when engineers, not flyers - design stuff.

Doc.

Yep, I'm sure we can come up with a fix, just no time right now to look into it, but it is on the list..

I used my vise and an adjustable wrench and tweaked the ends so it folds flat. The AL is soft and bent cleanly. I do unclip the strap for storage/transportation.
