X20 Release and updates

You might drop a line to the chap that is writing the manual for the radio and suggest this as the standard way of binding. Makes sense to me.
Trust me, I have.. :) But FrSky started with the "backwards" method back before any of us used their gear, so it persists..

Went back and went through the process and it worked just fine. Didnt reflash, but i did put the radio in bind mode first and than did the RX so maybe thats what you have to do with the x20. On my x-lite it doesnt matter which one you do first.

And its seems really not that big a deal but i am loving the color png photos for my models. It not only looks great but its such a great way to confirm which model you are on.
Now that i am on my 3rd model adding to ethos i am super happy with the os. To me it doesnt feel like a brand new os at all it feels like a dramatic version update to opentx. Things are in places i would expect them to be combined with the touch screen and not needing to remember what buttons do what makes it easy to use. My only complaint is that sometimes you are forced to use buttons, or i dont know how to get it to not use buttons. IE when you name a model you are forced to use scroll wheel the old way. why cant i hunt and peck on a soft keyboard?

I got my X20S today - with some drama.

First it was late - USPS kinda lost it but then it was found. Delivered, my wife pulled it off the porch (no stealth there). I was engaged elsewhere, but finally got time to grab the box.

The box with the BIG HOLE in the side. I must say enthusiasm waned at that point as I have been down that road before. Looked like the box took a direct hit from a high caliber bullet or a big stake. With trepidation I opened the box and no damage to the case or the transmitter. Took out the transmitter and powered it on, no problems seen. My initial reaction is: this is too beautiful to actually use, it is going on display. On a side note the Reese's was totally crushed but the Aloft sticker is just fine.

Cannot use the transmitter for a few weeks as we are in the middle of a remodel and I pledged to devote all my time there as PM. But I have big plans . . .

I also received my X20S today. Feels really good in my hands and no blocking of the screen by the neck strap which was a constant irritation with my X10. I had a bunch of models on my X10S running ethos, so I flashed the X20S with firmware 1.0.9 RC 4 so there would be no issues. I simply copied my models from the X10S to the X20S SD card and they all loaded perfectly. Hopefully I will be flying with it tomorrow, weather permitting.
