X18s problems

I just purchased a x18s from aloft .. About to pull my hair out ... I updated everything thru the Ethos suite no problem . I can register and bind to a r9 stab receiver . On first try I get jerky servo movements and in and out signal lost ( internal and external ant.) . So I remembered I had used flex fw on receiver so I updated rx to fcc .. Perfect bind no signal lost but zero servo movement . So then I updated radio and rx to flex .. Same ..perfect bind no servo output . Updated radio back to fcc and rx to fcc ..Same .... Then I used a r9 external module , perfect bind perfect on servo .. Just cant use the internals .. Any ideas ?

You are correct, do not use FLEX. You want the FCC versions.

No idea what might be going on with the internal. If no one has any idea, we better get the radio back from you for some testing. We will probably just pull out a new one, give it a quick update and test to make sure all is good and replace your radio.

Very sorry for the troubles - Will see if anyone here has any ideas to try first, otherwise, shoot us an email and we will get this replacement going for you.

So I tried a r9sx slim using fcc and all was good . So it is just the R9 stab . I tried 3 of the and they were all the same . I checked them on my Horus and they are good . I don't know if they have a special lua for ethos for the stab or if I can use the otx one ..Maybe there is a setting in there

So in the sxr setup in the radio if you turn off the stab and just use it as a regular rx it all works . but if you turn the stab on it wont work . I did the calibration and the setup . There is a glitch somewhere ( probably in my brain )

Maybe you somehow inadvertently started the "self-test" (a misnomer in my opinion), and because you didn't notice that you didn't wiggle the sticks. That would result in zero servo throw, because you have "taught" the receiver that your maximum allowable servo throw is zero.

I thought about that but when I used the external module all was fine .

I still have not figured it out . I am sure it's something I'm not doing right. I can disable the stabilization and use it as a normal rx but as soon as I enable stab I get nothing . I can use external module and everything works . I just can't use the internal module (900 mhz ) of the x18s with stab. enabled on the rx . If anyone has any idea I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Allen

So the self check is not on a switch in Ethos . It is in the sxr setup . I tried it several times and on the 3rd try it worked . Just make sure you are moving your sticks to their limits . You still configure your 3 position switch for your oh crap switch ..
Thanks
Allen
