X10S Express will not Register to Receiver

Heidi.
Yes the ISRM RF module is the same for X10 and X10S Express. Just remember if you go the OTX way, firmware is divided into two separate types of functionality.
1. OTX firmware is for setting up all your model requirements, Telemetry and screen displays, sounds and images etc. This is Open Source firmware created by countless computer and RC model nerds. Meant in a good way.

2. The ISRM firmware is written and controlled by FRsky. This firmware together with the receiver firmware is for transmitting the data created under OTX to and from the TX and RX.

Were you able to get the receiver registered and bound. This is two operations.

I have always used OTX so like it and mostly for the everyday stuff its pretty simple to use. Just a different mind set to other transmitter operating systems. There are countless videos out there but try to choose ones that are not too old ( Less than 6 months) as there have been many OTX revisions.

To install OTX on your FRos radio requires a Micro SD card of 16gig class 10 card. Copy the OTX SD card contents to the SD card. Then download the radio firmware and flash it to your radio. One big advantage with OTX is you can download Opentx Companion which makes flashing and producing a model and backing up your models to your PC really easy.

Happy hunting

Here is the Opentx web site, the latest version is Opentx 2.3.11. Follow the prompts to Companion as well as SD card contents etc.
Thank you Henny!
It's a few days before the new reciever gets here. I'll definitely post back once I find an answer ?

I'm having a hard time with this access stuff I got the horus x10s express a few weeks ago and update to open tx
VERS : 2.3.11-otx (4328055e)
DATE : 2021-01-8

Internal Module : ISRM-S-X10E
1.1.0/1.1.3FCC
I purchase 1 R10 Pro and 2 Archer r6
I try to register and the TX never fount the rx so I figured they need it updating,,, I then when to frsky and download the lates sofwhere for the rx and it is
Archer-X_ 2.1.6.frsk
I did the update on the receivers with no problem connecting them with the supply hardness to the back of the TX, well that did not fix any thing.
But if I select D16 mode I can bind just fine to my X8r receivers I'm actually flying with the radio and x8r receivers with no problems.
I see the difference between
TX software 2.3.11 and rx software 2.1.6
But that is the latest software I can find for the receivers, any idea what I'm doing wrong???

The key is here, in that the TX is running a v1.1.3 Please understand that there are two processors in the tx. On on the RF module (IRM) and the other on the mother board running I hope (OpenTX) or Horus FOS*.
Please make sure you are running v2.1.x in your ISRM

All Archer RX are running the ACCeSS V2.1.x and will NOT work with ISRM on v1.1.3.
(It's not you, It's its FrSky's lack of proper control for release of production FW).
This is just shameful, their flagship products don't work with each other right out of the box!

This needs to be a sticky

* FrOS has been abandoned by FrSky.

Thanks su much, such and easy fix and been scratchong mi head for hours ? I did the update and now all my Archer receivers are working. Thanks again.

Thank you for closing the loop. It is great to learn what works along with what doesn't.

The hours spent trying to sort through poorly implemented and documented FW issues needs to be added to the cost calculus when looking to buy FrSky radios. The management of FrSky needs to get this beaten into their heads. While not there yet, Radiomaster will slaughter FrSky in the near future if FrSky can't figure out how to manage their FW and production roll outs.

Yes, I'm pissed at FrSky as I too lost valueable hobby time to this ACCeSS v1 v2 issue!

You've convinced me to install open TX. It is silly that FrSky can't get their stuff together.

While the correct move, that wasn't my argument. If you are willing to jump, can I ask what is your RC experience?
