Thank you Henny!Heidi.
Yes the ISRM RF module is the same for X10 and X10S Express. Just remember if you go the OTX way, firmware is divided into two separate types of functionality.
1. OTX firmware is for setting up all your model requirements, Telemetry and screen displays, sounds and images etc. This is Open Source firmware created by countless computer and RC model nerds. Meant in a good way.
2. The ISRM firmware is written and controlled by FRsky. This firmware together with the receiver firmware is for transmitting the data created under OTX to and from the TX and RX.
Were you able to get the receiver registered and bound. This is two operations.
I have always used OTX so like it and mostly for the everyday stuff its pretty simple to use. Just a different mind set to other transmitter operating systems. There are countless videos out there but try to choose ones that are not too old ( Less than 6 months) as there have been many OTX revisions.
To install OTX on your FRos radio requires a Micro SD card of 16gig class 10 card. Copy the OTX SD card contents to the SD card. Then download the radio firmware and flash it to your radio. One big advantage with OTX is you can download Opentx Companion which makes flashing and producing a model and backing up your models to your PC really easy.
Happy hunting
Here is the Opentx web site, the latest version is Opentx 2.3.11. Follow the prompts to Companion as well as SD card contents etc.

It's a few days before the new reciever gets here. I'll definitely post back once I find an answer ?
