X10S (2019) Programming Reverse Thrust w/ R9 Receiver using FrOS?

Can someone comment on this topic. The plan is a new Ultra Stik PNP 60. I was hoping to use my never-flown X10S... I am attempting to learn the FrOS programming....due mainly to the quality of the controls (sticks) on X10S...
I can program this feature on my Spektrum DX9, but I have the AR10100T Receiver.
Thank you in advance.

Kenneth,

Since you are just starting out, you might want to convert the radio over to OpenTX or Ethos as FrOs is now discontinued and in general was never all that great. Then you will have a system that can do just about anything. :)

Wayne:
Actually that was my original intent. Recently, I have struggled with the ease of using the Spektrum UI versus the aspect of the Frsky is a better quality radio. The Open TX is tha answer. I don't know if I am committed enough to do that versus purchasing another Spektrum (e.g iX12). Is the View worth the Climb...as the saying goes...with Frsky or even Futaba for that matter. . Thank you very much for your quick reply. Much appreciated. Ken

If you move to Opentx there is a whole family of Youtube videos to help you get started, just check the Youtube video publishing date as some videos are quite old and may not be accurate anymore due to firmware updates. Nearly all the members in our club that have moved from Spektrum to Opentx never look back. The cost of receivers is also way more cost effective using FRsky gear. Opentx also has a very good PC based program called Companion.

There are also some good manuals out there, and a lot of folks online are generally very helpful.

It is a bit of a climb, but if you stick with it, I think you will really like it. Since you are used to the Spectrum ways, it is a bit harder as you need to learn a new way to program an airplane, but once you do a couple you will know if you like the process or not. If the Spektrum suddenly seems like a toy, then you know you are going down the right path. If you totally miss the Spektrum, then maybe something like a Futaba would work better for you.

As far as the view worth the climb, I'm going to back Wayne up her. I'm no frsky expert and my exposure to opentx is just from what I've read in forums. I jumped both feet, into ethos.
What I can speak to is the older Spektrum and Futabe radios of 8 to 12 years ago. The transmitter programming of those generally hasn't changed much until you get to the NX series spektrum has.
It's water vs wine. If opentx can get into the same room as erhos as far as capability which Wayne and others have all said it can and then some, the climb is definitely worth it. I don't know Lua scripts or how to use them but the online repository for them is pages upon pages.
If you can think of it, there is probably a Lua script that will do it, in terms of rc. Just a matter of downloading it, running it and setting it up.
Take the leap. You'll be glad you did.
Not even flying my frsky equipped radio or plane, and already in love with ethos. It's like my wife, I don't fully understand it, but I love it. If OpenTx is like that...yeah..you'll never look back.
