X-Lite S throttle stick question

I just got an nearly new X-Lite S TX from a friend. When the throttle stick reaches the ends of its travel you can push it a few degrees more at each end and it feels as if there is some kind of soft rubber "bumper" inside. It doesn't come to a hard stop like the right hand stick. Is this normal? Seems like its going to be hard to get a good calibration on the throttle stick with no hard stops at each end.

One other odd thing is I always get a throttle stick warning upon power up, and when I move the stick to the low position (past the rubber "bumper") it doesn't remove the warning. I updated to OpenTX 2.3.11 and it made no difference. My only experience with FrSky and OpenTX is on my Horus X10S TX which I've had for two years.

I figured out how to solve my throttle stick issues. I had to fiddle with the screw that changes the stick from centering to non-centering, as well as the screw that changes the friction. The two are somewhat interactive, and after a fair amount of adjusting both I got the throttle stick to where it will not spring back at the ends of its travel. I got rid of the throttle stick warning after several tries of calibration. Overall I'm not very impressed with the quality of the stick gimbals on the X-Lite S. I wish I would have got the X-Lite Pro instead for the CNC gimbals.
