WOW, Exemplary service from all the folks at Aloft Hobbies.

The background was that I was having difficulties updating the firmware in my 3 year old Taranis-plus.

Wanting to go flying this Friday I pack everything into my Prius, other than my bad attitude, and drove across the Golden Gate bridge to Novato the home of Aloft Hobbies.

I was greeted by the very pleasant office help and a pack of very very friendly dogs. Any residual bad attitude instantly evaporated! I told the sales tech of my issue updating the firmware. They gave it a try, and they too had issues on multiple windows computer. This force the issue up to the big guns, “Wayne” and his Apple Mac. I’m happy to report that the issue was traced to the windows drivers. On the Mac Wayne was able to upgrade everything, even things I knew nothing about. So for a nice drive across the bridge I was able to get my radio up to date. Thanks to the guys and gals at Aloft Hobbies!

I know this is more of a shout out for Aloft Hobbies rather than anything with the Fr-Sky radio. But if you are having issues updating the firmware look at the security setting on the windows side. MS Window never has been friendly to us modelers. And the last three operating systems are really confining as to security protocols. So much so as to make the system almost unusable for second party operators.

A big Thank You!

All the best,
Konrad

Yeah, not sure what the issue is, but every now and then we get a radio that just doesn't play well with Windows boxes. We kind of joke around that the Mac can fix anything on a Taranis. Knock on wood, that has been the case all of these years. On a rare occasion their will be a physical issue with the USB port on the radio, but normally it just seems to come down to odd USB black magic.

Thanks for stopping by, it was great chatting with you, and sorry about the pack of unruly dogs. LOL
