Please do not share these photos. But looking for some feedback. These will be running Ethos and be the next major releases in the Ethos/Tandem line.

The proposed X20E gets a lot of styling cues from the X9E, FrSky's last tray radio. For our X9E customers, did any of you use the top screen?

So that was a big radio, how about something smaller?

I love that we will have the power of Ethos in a small package. One of the 2 radios I currently fly is an X-lite S and I like it a fair amount, my only complaints are that I do not like the navigation and the single trim solution on the current radios. This new version cures those issues 100%.

What do you like, what do you dislike? You never know who may be listening.

Yes. I have been using X-Lite (S). It fits in my backpack well, and I like that all the switches are easily within the reach of my fingers. I have been ignoring Ethos till now because it requires large transmitters.

Is SE a momentary switch?

Need the neck strap.

Do you use a neck strap on your radio now? But a good point. Can see if they can work something into it.
Yes, SE should be a momentary. Think you can use it to "latch" also via programming. Click it once and it stays "clicked" click it again and it is unclicked.

Yes, I am using a neck strap with my X-Lite S.

The momentary buttons on X-Lite S are just tiny dots. At first I was worried that my finger might slip off it prematurely during the DLG launch, but so far so good.

The buttons here look better than on X-Lite S. I hope SB won't get in the way for my finger to reach SE, but it's hard to tell without actually holding the transmitter in my hand. In the worst case I can just remove SB, so no big deal.

I like it better and better.

On the small one (thinking about the wife here because she dropped a bomb on me today)
She has small hands. If S1 was tied to flaps..she wouldn't be able to get to it. SE and SB would be a stretch too..but that's the wife.

For me it would be a worry about hitting sb and se by accident trying to eyes off get to s1, I'd have to try it.

But, in the case of the wife..a ten channel, buddy box capable transmitter that size would work well overall. As long as my X20 could "buddy box" with it would be killer.
The other thing would be limit of channels. She's wanting to learn to fly rc so she's gonna be starting out on a 4 channel trainer and going from there. A transmitter that size that can handle up to oh...ten channels plus telemetry would be all she would probably need for years.
A wireless buddy box capability would be even better. I second the neck strap. All transmitters should have a spot for a neck strap.
On the x20e..I've never used a tray transmitter, but, looking at it, I could see the benefit but, I have no real opinion..
On the small..if the speaker were to be moved up near bottom of screen with the power being nudged down on that panel to make room for it, then the eyelet for the neck strap could go right about where the speaker is. But, it would depend on where the balance was.
Typically, when I'm flying, the Trans is on its strap and kinda balancing against my stomach so the sticks point almost straight up..probably like someone using a tray lol..

My .02

Speaking on the sliders S1 and S2: I wish they have the center notch on them.
Actually, I wish there is a center notch on the throttle stick, too.

Just noticed there are 4 sets of cross buttons on the little guy. If we use 2 sets as the trim buttons, there are still 2 more sets left.

Are all the buttons programmable in Ethos, like in OpenTX?
(And with the touch screen, you won't need buttons to navigate through menus, right?)

If this radio fits anything like the current small radios you should have easy access to all of the switches and sliders. Your finger comes in from the side, not the top.

Agreed about the center detent. Pretty sure Frsky has that on the current radios.

The sliders - I sort of wish they would move the sliders to the back of the radio, about where your fingers are resting naturally. But that would only work for thumb pilots, not so well for pinch. This radio does lend itself to either style.

Yes, the buttons should be fully assignable. Yes, I think it is a touch screen Yes, it will have wireless trainer support. Yes, it will have 24 channels and pretty sure it is Tandem, 2.4 and 900 frequencies.

I'm still happy with my X9D+, in the past I would never consider the smaller transmitters because of the lack of trims, now I might consider when it comes time to upgrade. I take it the antenna is in the top of the sliding screen?

Not sure on the finer details guys, at this point just artist renderings to see what people like or hate.
