Welcome to our Ethos discussion area. Please read.

I have a question about how ethos handles bmp files. I see on the x20 the bmp files need to be 300x280. Is that the maximum size or does it have to be exactly that size? for instance can i load in a 300x200 picture?

Hi All
Does Ethos have a "not or negate" on a input to a logical switch? ie SW1 AND "NOT" SW2. I see you can invert the output of the logical switch but that is not really what I want. I could do it with SW2 OR SW2 and invert the output then feed it into the AND but that seems a waste of a logical switch. Am i missing something?

FOUND IT..
once you have entered the logical switch combo go back and select the input and hold enter in for a long push. this brings up a popup to invert

Hello, not sure if this is the correct place to post following Ethos question but here it is:

I moved from a Frsky Horus running FrOs to a Tandem X20 on Ethos and I have a problem with the throttle settings.. I have Full throttle down instead of up and on the Horus this was a simple Hardware Channel reverse (CH3). This doesn't seem to exist on Ethos so I tried the normal channel reverse but trying to configure throttle hold I get lost what's min and whats max..
Also the display doesn't reverse on channel reversion.. anyone any ideas ? Thanks in advance, Henk

Thanks for the info, that is what I have done but that doesn't revert the the channel display and the min and max settings in the throttle hold, this is whats confusing me.. I got it working but the throttle hold position is now set to 100%, (using the hardware channel reversion on the Horus the display changed and showed -100 with the throttle stick on top and the throttle hold was -100)

Since we are selling the X20 and X20S in pre-buy on our site I thought it would be a great time to start up a category to discuss this new firmware on these radios.

As of right now, you have a few options to test out Ethos.
  1. You can download their Ethos Simulator onto a Windows computer.
  2. You can install it on an X10 or X10S Express
  3. You can upgrade the older X10 or X10S with an ACCESS ISRM install, then load Ethos onto the radio.
  4. You can upgrade the X12S with an ACCESS ISRM install, then load Ethos onto the radio.
  5. Get your hands on an X20, X20S or X20HD and play!
For more details you can check FrSky's Ethos pages:

Currently do not see the Ethos simulator link, but it was up a few days ago.

p.s. If you find yourself near our shop, swing by and play with the new X20. It is one of those radios you should get your hands on to really get a feel for Ethos, but also enjoy the great ergonomics of this radio.

Will the simulator work on Mac, Wayne?

Doc.

No ETA - But FrSky is taking orders, so I'll order in some more. Good news is they will be just the radio, no more combo requirement.

Hello, This problem has been resolved, the newly acquired X20 was running an old version of the firmware, updating to the last firmware resolved the issue..
Regards, Henk

I'd like to ask what version of Ethos gave you this flexibility?

I'd also like to learn what application you are using the radio in, that has this reverse (from normal) throttle. I recall in the old days that European RC helicopters had the throttle stick down for high power. This was to mimic the full size heli where pulling the lever up (closer to arm pit) adds power.
