Welcome to our Ethos discussion area. Please read.

If the charging arrangement is the same as the Horus X10S which also uses a 2S pack then what happens is the charge controller in the radio does a switch mode and balance from 5volt to the required voltage for a 2S pack. Its all done inside the radio. FRsky recommend a 5 volt USB source of 2.1 amps. I use my Samsung charger and this works fine. A lower current supply also works but takes longer.
Makes sense, that it's all onboard, Thank you!

I just charged our X20 as the battery today with my Laptop's power source, figured USB C is good to go. No problems, all charged back up. I have also charged it via the USB C port on my Mac laptop with no issues.

Wayne, will Aloft install Ethos on an X10S Express currently running OTX? I am primarily a Mac guy, I can run Windows via Parallels but I would rather have the initial install of Ethos done by someone familiar with the process. This is a backup X10S Express, I'd like to work with Ethos to better understand it, then if all's well order the X20. Please advise

Good morning!

My buddy and I ordered our X20's from Aloft last week and I am so excited for them to arrive!
Just a couple quick clarifying questions.
1. Sounds like Aloft will be providing SD cards and the latest Ethos firmware with each radio ordered, correct? or will the SD cards be a separate purchase like with the other radios?
2. has anyone set up the X20 to work with rc simulators? how'd that go?

Yes, we can do this. May want to wait a month as I suspect we will see a lot of small fixes now that the radios are in the wild. They always find little issues when they go full public.

1- Yes, SD is included with the radio and will be fully up dated when we ship to you.
2- I have not tested the simulator side of things, but imagine that is good to go...?

Awesome! Thanks so much! I'm really excited for this new radio.

Just wanted to mention that the FrSky usb simulator dongle works with Ethos on my X10S. I had an older one so I had to flash the dongle to ACCST 2.1. There doesn't appear to be any ACCESS flash for the dongle so your simulator model has to be set to D16 mode. The hardest part was finding instructions for flashing the dongle. You need to open it up and use (or make) a special cable. I used it on Aerofly on my Mac, but I am sure it works with others.

Wayne, back on April 23 you said the X20 had been shipped and you expected to receive them in about two weeks, which would be around May7. How about the X20S? Do you have an ETA on them yet?

I would be in that boat with Scott as well. I like to use Companion from time to time so that's another draw card for me as well.

For me one of the biggest draw is the touchscreen. Like 80% of my issues with programming any radio is remembering what buttons do what when im in the field.

LOL, I switch back and forth between an X7 and an X-lite. The navigation is very different between the two despite them having the small LCD screens. Either is fine, but going back and forth is annoying. I need to retire my X7.

Roy handed me his x9d to maiden his hawk, I could not remember how to do anything after using my xlite for a couple years.

I noticed Aloft received a new stock of Archer receivers today. Did the Tandem X20 and X20S transmitters arrive in the shame shipment as the Archer receivers?
