While on the subject of Prusa - LOL
I'm told the new Prusa Slicer release has fixed some of the issues with printing plane parts correctly. It still takes some effort to dial things in, but it is working on par with the best now and is easier to use. Great!!
Can you expand a little on your last post?
Are you referring to using the Prusa Slicer on the PlanePrint parts which are Cura?
I used the Cura Slicer on the Fuselage Parts and they look and match each other pretty well, But I am having "fits"
with the wing parts!
Will you be having all of the Carbon, tube and rod, items back in stock soon? also can I order all of the Motor, BEC,
Servos and etc. parts from Aloft also?
Yes, we will be doing our best to stock all items for his planes. Covid is just making a mess of things right now.
Prusa Slicer could not do wing prints before, they had an issue like many slicers that did not like super thin walls. This was brought to the attention of the Prusa team and it appears they have fixed the issue.
Wayne at Soarkraft shared this info with me and has been fine tuning the Prusa slicer for his planes. He should be posting up a video with his results soon. Wayne is doing really cool stuff with his line of 3D printed planes. They are more on the slope side of things, but he is rolling out some electric versions also. He has been a great source of information. I have printed up a couple of his planes and really like them. (I'm a slope guy)
Hey Wayne,
I used to be a slope guy also until I moved to Virginia from Seattle. I had done some thermal flying with the San Fernando Flyers
back in the 1960s. I also did some slope flying at Jockey Ridge on the big Sand Dunes in N. Carolina, but the Hang Glider folks
took that over to do training activities. I Really miss slope flying at Torry Pines and on the high Cliffs along the Columbia River.
Reading the Posts on this Forum really brings back many great memories about flying gliders and comparing what we had in the way
of materials to work with and what is being used today. AAHH the smell of Bannana Oil, Nitrate Dope, and Home Made Acetate Glue!!!!
Japanese Tissue, Bamboo Paper, and Silk, Those were the days. We did have wonderful Balsa also! Did I forget to mention MicroFilm?
Hi Wayne,
I received an email from Rafael about two days ago with a price for the ASK-14 he printed for me and messaged him through the forum inquiring about total charges including shipping so I can remit payment through Zelle. I haven’t heard back and am anxious to get this shipped. I assume he is an Aloft employee and I can send the Zelle payment to you as usual. Let me know.

Sorry Rafael was out today, and was buried yesterday.
I guess I did not realize you wanted us to print the entire plane for you. Just a heads up, that would get expensive, and these planes tend to be rather fragile. We bill out our 3D printing time at $5/hour. Not sure how many hours it would take to print the ASK, but thinking a lot.

Let me be perfectly clear. I do NOT want to have the entire plane printed, just the flexible parts that Rafael indicated he had printed and quoted me a price of $15.00. I was trying to find out the cost of shipping so I could send payment.
Thanks,
Raymond Gaskins
Ok, Sorry about that. We are actually going to give you those parts for free. I think there is an email thread going for your order, so should be getting answers there. Sadly we are a greatly reduced labor force due to covid this week.

I understand and thank you for your kindness. I wish a speedy recovery for your staff. I also want to thank you for sponsoring the most helpful forum in the RC community. I have enjoyed reading this site on an almost daily basis and have learned a great deal.
I hope to contribute help to others on this site in the future. I am a newbie to 3 D printing and have just received my Prusa machine and will be setting it up this weekend and found the recommendations on this topic in the forum to be most helpful in selecting this printer and supplies.
Best,
Raymond Gaskins
hello @HOQUIAM im sharing the cura (profile 3) for polymaker LW PLA i was using to print the entire RISE from planeprint.com you just need to import it and slice all parts.
