Use new X9D+ 2019 SE with old ACCSS receivers

A buddy of mine had his old X9D+ 2019 SE transmitter go bad, and he would like to get a new one. Problem is, a new X9D+... has firmware for the new ACCESS protocol, which will not work with his ACCSS receivers. I have a backup of the firmware on his old TX (2.3.7), and I'm thinking I can just flash that on a new TX and it will work with his existing receivers that all use the older ACCSS protocol. Do you think that should work? Any comments appreciated!

You can probably find the old firmware on the FrSky site. They hide old versions a bit, but they should be there.

You wont like my response, but we will always suggest using the newest firmware to avoid issues. Do it now and be done with it.

HUM?
I used the ACCST receivers on my X9D+ 2019 running Open TX 2.3.4. When I updated to OpenTX 2.3.15 the same ACCST receivers still worked.

All my ACCST RX's have been updated to ACCST 2.1.xx. So has the ISRM in the TX. When updating OpenTX you don't need to update the ISRM. Not sure I understand the concern with the move from OpenTX 2.3.7 to the latest (2.3.15?).

My X9D+ 2019 will run both ACCST and ACCeSS protocols. What I really like about the X9D+ 2019 is that with ACCeSS I can run an R9M module and run on 900 mHz!

Recently I've been trying to update all my ACCST RX to the Uni software configuration. All my XJT and ISRM modules are running ACCST 2.1.xx (this is a safety issue)

OK - reread this original post and I think I made some assumptions reading it that were not correct. Here is my updated response:

I think you are confusing some terms here. The new Radio has both ACCST V2 and ACCESS. There is no such thing as "ACCSS" I was reading that as ACCESS, my bad. Your older ACCST receivers are all on ACCST V1 firmware and will not talk with V2 firmware transmitters. V1 has a MAJOR BUG and should be updated. With either V2 or UNI-RX. We suggest UNI-RX as it has MANY advantages and works better.

If your buddy likes, we can update the firmware for him here at Aloft, he can mail them to us and we can do the work, I think we charge $5 per, and discount that if he has a bunch.
