Unable to bind X8R Receivers

New User
I am unable to bind X8R receivers to my X20S. I have tried to bind 5 different receivers. Transmitter and receivers have latest firmware and I am in ACCST mode. I am able to bind a RX8R and XM+ receivers though. I would like to use the X8Rs until I am able to upgrade to newer receivers. I have 8 of them and can't replace them all at one time.

I think you have a version incompatibility issue. Reload ACCST 2.1.xx. Or better yet load Uni ( see Aloft sales site).

As I said in my first post, I have ALL the latest firmware loaded. I can't load Uni. That can only be done by Aloft.

I the only thing I find at Aloft about Uni is this as copied from the Uni page: Due to the threat of clone manufacturers we can not make this initial firmware available for download. We wish we could, but since FrSky does not own this firmware we have to be careful. (Cloners have already copied FrSky receivers and firmwares and sold them and been forced to stop via the legal system in China. In this case, we have made something that would be very attractive to clone manufacturers as it would get them around the FrSky ownership.)

If this is the Uni software, the Aloft site is very confusing as to what they are telling people. Thanks for the help and guidance to where it's at.

I have updated the page both on our forum and on RC Groups where we had made that older statement. Sorry for the confusion.

Ok I got the activation Lua script but I must be doing something wrong. I placed it in my scripts folder on the SD card. It did nothing when I turned on the radio. Is there some way to activate Lua scripts that I'm missing? I did forget to say that I'm new to Ethos if you haven't guessed that yet and even newer to Lua.

Just checking you have the LUA file for ETHOS from the second post of the thread (where the guide is).
In Ethos, you should have a sub-directory in the scripts directory called "uniActi", in which are three files:
engelmt.bmp
main.lua
main.png

OK, I have redownloaded all the correct files and setup in the correct folders. Flashed the receiver again with the firmware. Radio started normally with no popups. Receiver did bind but nothing came up for the activation code. Am I supposed to turn on Lua scripts some place or do they automatically activate? I have downloaded the
engelmt.bmp
main.lua
main.png
I can open all 3 in notepad so they are not zip files and have the proper extensions on the end. Radio is an X20S.

In Ethos if you did things correctly the Uni-Activate will pop up in your system menus. (just click the SYS key, then scroll to the left.)

I don't know what I might have done wrong. Here is what I get in the system. I made sure all the extensions are correct. I tried to attach the main lua file but it won't allow me too. My guess is that I'm doing something wrong.

The only thing on that page is info. This is all that shows in info. I have checked another model and it is the same. Do I have something missing in my radio program?

Ok after continual loading of the Lua downloads, I now have the Lua widgits and when I go into it things light up. Now I found the code page. I hope that I'm on my way.
