Thor.2 --- Slopesoarer with F3f/b genes

Hey Wayne, let me know when you get it in, gotta come down and get a feel on this one! Any $ estimates yet?

Just got a call from Mike, a very happy owner of a Thor.2. He was driving back from his maiden flights and is very pleased with the performance. He used the same setting as his other F3F airframe, but had to dial them back as the Thor.2 is more responsive in the same conditions. He reports that the model is very slippery and holds its speed, sounded like a real joy to fly. Mike has already requested a backup airframe. That is a happy pilot.

I'm hearing the same reports from other pilots around the globe. :)

Like Wayne said, she is a keeper! Here are some pics from my build. MKS 6130 on flaps, KST A08+ on Ailerons, KST MS325 on Tails, 18650 Lilon 2s 3000ma battery , Needed 156 grams to CG at 105mm. 2530 grams ready to fly.
Keep throws low on this one, Elev-5mm up,7mm down(for crow comp), Rudders @ 10mm, Ail-10mm up, 5mm down, Flaps Down as much as you can get (I have @ 80 degrees) up about 10mm, Crow to taste, I have @ 5mm up on ail, full down on flaps with about 3mm down comp on elevator. Snapflap set to 6mm max, Reflex set on ail-flap, -1mm, Camber- down 3mm on ail-flap.

Some side by side comparison pics below of FS5 and Thor2 fuses

I had the pleasure of seeing Mikes, Conrad and Mark Allen fly these this last weekend at out F3F race. They are very nice in quality and seemed to fly well even in the marginal conditions we had on Sunday.

When is the next batch coming, I think I need one of these.

We have several more on order including the lightweight versions. Should meet the current requests from your club members and still have a couple for inventory. In terms of the time frame, I am never able to give an accurate estimate, but probably around 2 months. This has become our best selling F3F in the history of Aloft.

Just this thread. I'll see if we can add some photos and such.

Konrad has done a nice clean install on his after making some changes, and he has some suggestions for wing horn lengths using the Thomas Liu IDS, I'll post those up soon. I think we will try and get Thomas to make a kit of the Thor. :)

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, I received the first electric fuselages and hard-shell wings.
Due to time constraints, I was only able to take a quick look at them and snap a few photos of the electric fuselage. Over the weekend, I will take a closer look at everything...
I'm really happy with the electric fuselage! TJIRC has actually left the nose on, so this fuselage can also be used as a glider option. This is certainly beneficial for hobby pilots without competitive ambitions, as it leaves more space for RC equipment and allows larger components to be installed.
The disadvantage is that the nose has to be cut off for the drive itself. But this allows for a lot of flexibility... I will probably create 3D-printed templates for different spinner diameters and make them available as STL files and/or printed parts.
