As a result of a recent hand injury I've had issues grasping things; case in point my X18 SE. I dropped this TX on Sunday 23 and broke 3 switches as it hit the tile floor. By Wednesday 26 I had my radio repaired with factory parts! Thanks to Aloft shipping me out the parts so fast!
This is one of the main reasons I don't use Spektrum radios. They will not sell me TX support parts. I don't understand why they do this. This is an RC Hobby and not consumer electronics. We as hobbyist generally have the skill sets to repair most things pertaining to the hobby. Just about every radio I've ever had, has had a switch or two break during the service life of the TX. Having spare parts has saved me many a flying session. With FrSky I was down for less than 3 days. If I was flying Speckrum I'd be lucky to get the radio back in under 2 weeks. Yes, repairing the Frsky TX requires some soldering tools and skills, Multiplex is set up as a plug and play switch replacement.
Yes, I took the opportunity to repair this radio to show that I still have the manual dexterity in my hand to perform this simple repair.
