The new Website is now LIVE.

I notice that items in my cart keep disappearing. Have we lost the saving items in my cart when logged in feature?

I found that feature to be really helpful. So often, I'll think of something and just place it in cart for a later purchase when I'm ready. I know for a fact I had many things in my cart just recently but I couldn't tell you what half of them were now.

Also the Wishlist seems to be gone now and the Notify When Back in Stock does not seem to be working either but I think you mentioned that you are working on it.

Thanks,
Kirk

You will not be automatically logged in when you re-open the homepage. Make sure you're logged in.

We don't currently have a wishlist, we may add it later.

Back in stock likely isn't working because you are relying on your alerts placed on the old site - you will need to sign up again for those alerts.

I'm guessing you are not logging into the site, and or using different browsers or devices?? Pretty sure cart contents will stick around if you are logged into your account...

I am sure to log in as when I didn't before with the previous website it would not save my cart contents. It does seem to be working now. However, the cart contents are not consistent across devices. The previous website would update my cart with whatever device I logged in with.

I used the wishlist infrequently.

The back in stock function does not work on the new website when I try to sign up for a new notification. It does not seem to accept my email submittal. I thought I remember reading here that this would be reintegrated in the future. IDK.

I am currently using Safari on Apple stuff, phone, tablet and desktop, as I did previously.

I'm just letting you know what is not working as requested earlier in this thread. I can get used to it if it turns out to function differently.

Thanks for all that you do to help improve the RC community and provide a valuable resource of both knowledge and goods.

Kirk

It works for me. Are you already signed up for it? If I already am signed up and try to sign up again, it pops up a message that says "You are already subscribed for this item." Below is a screenshot from Firefox on my desktop (see lower right to see notice). I repeated this on my iPhone with Safari and I get the same pop-up notification at the bottom of my phone screen.

Just confirming the back in stock notification worked for me. Because that above manual product page I used as an example which says "You are already subscribed for this item"? Well, I have it in-hand now, because I got the in-stock email alert on Monday and placed an order for it ASAP! (and because Aloft is amazingly quick at shipping orders out)

I have been getting zero emails from the forums for about a month at least now. Yes i have checked my blocked list/spam settings

I hate email issues..

Is anyone getting emails from this forum? Seems we have had a drop in attendance, this may well be why.

No it doesn't do anything. Just tried it again on the grx-6 page. I tap the notify me button and there is no message confirming a subscription added or stating that I'm already subscribed. That's why I mentioned it because I just don't know if it is working or not.

Thanks for your response but I'm not going to worry about it. I'll live without the notification. I don't have the latest and greatest tablet or phone with the latest and greatest OS. The rate that the big tech change this stuff is almost/maybe criminal. Sure tech advancements are important but there needs to be better basic universal functioning across the board before we move on and keep it back compatible in my opinion. I can do without the gadgets and gizmos. I still don't have arrow keys on my silly apple product keyboards! Why!? It sure would make typing easier. Have the new options sure, I'll use them but don't discard the old tried and true. Use each where they make the most sense.

I'm sure Wayne and Aloft are doing everything they can to keep up w this stuff but the pace is furious. Prob my old (really?) devices. Just saying I think you're doing a fine job. No worries. Thanks.

Physical computer keyboard or touch screen? Handy tip for touch screen devices. If you need to move the cursor, instead of tapping you can press and hold the spacebar. The keyboard letters will all go blank. Now, without lifting your finger, move your finger that was holding the space bars. The cursor will move relative to your movements of the finger. Once positioned where you want it, release your finger and it’ll stay there and the letters on the keyboard will come back, ready to type in the new location.

It’s much faster and more accurate than trying to tap a specific location within text, which is very finicky on a touchscreen.

Yes, I'm well aware of that and I use that often (as I'm forced to) but often times that is a very clunky way of moving the cursor a couple/few spaces as it is slow to engage and fumbly when a quick simple tap of the arrow key would be most efficient. Sometimes it is the better option and for those times I am grateful but why exclude such a simple and often used key? The space on the touchscreen is blank right where they used to be! Sometimes (more often than not) the most simple option is the best option. Give me a hammer to drive a nail, please.

Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate the communication.

Are you guys getting emails about updates to this thread or just happen to spot a new post here?

I spend too much time here to clutter my mail in box telling me to stop by and spend even more time here.

And that is why I do not force the emails on people, but I would like to know if they are able to be turned on and working for the folks that would like that. I also have them turned off as I am on here countless times a day.

I signed up for every type of notification via email, I can come to the forum and see that threads have been updated since I last visited (things I should get an email for) and I got nothing, double checked all my inboxes and spam. No dice.

Thanks @Nigel for checking. I had just given up and just manually refresh the what's new tab through the day, would be nice to have them working again.

I checked my email and no notification message for the forum. I just stumbled upon the new posts. I do get an Alert at the top of the page when there is a new post. All my settings are currently set to default as I don't recall changing any. (They are all checked).

Uh sorry about my little rant above (two previous posts). I should make it a point not to post when I'm tired and grumpy with a migraine coming on! Lol
