Taranis X9DP 2019 and X8R binding issues, Any help appreciated

Firstly, let me say that I have followed all the relevant videos released (Aloft Hobbies, Painless 360, Joshua Bardwell) and still no luck

I have 2 Taranis TX, Taranis X9DP and Taranis X9DP 2019 SE.
I have flashed my X9DP TX to have opentx-x9d+ vers 2.3.11 (4328055e)
The X9dP 2019 SE has been flashed with opentx-x9d+2019 vers 2.3.11 (4328055e) and ISRM-S-X9 vers 1.1.0/2.1.6 FCC.
If I flash my X8R receivers with the 2.1 down load X8R_ACCST_2.1.0_FCC.frk then I can bind them to the X9DP 2019 SE and the TX receives the telemetry from the receiver, however the receiver does not respond on any channel. The servos do not move at all.
The X9DP obviously does not bind to the newly flashed receiver.
I can re-flash these receivers with the older X8R firmware X8R_FCC_180322.frk and they all bind and respond to the X9DP but obviously not the X9dP 2019 SE .
I am wanting to use them all on the X9dP 2019 SE.
BTW there are 3 X8R receivers all responding the same way.
Thanks in advance
Chris

You also need to flash your older X9D+ with XJT with version v2.1.0 as you have already done with your X9D+2019se.

After your flash both the receiver and Transmitter with XJT or ISRM (Radio dependent ) with v2.1.x as well as the appropriate receiver with v2.1.x it will all operate. So you state you receive telemetry for your X8R receiver so it appears to have bound and connected. Go to the bar graph view on your transmitter. While moving your sticks do you see the bar graphs moving indicating the channel outputs are being sent. If not you have not correctly setup a model on your radio. Nothing will move if you don't have a model setup to move the appropriate servo channels.

Don't confuse OTX version 2.3.11 with XJT and ISRM v2.1.x as these are different firmware for different parts of the radio.

Henny,
Thanks, I have flashed the X8R RX with X8R_ACCST_2.1.0_FCC.frk and the X9DP 2019 TX with ISRM-S-X9 vers 1.1.0/2.1.6 FCC and that causes them to bind but the servos do not respond even though the TX monitor is showing that the channels are outputting.
I am aware that the Open TX is not part of the TX to RX communication but mentioned so that we are aware it is the latest software for OpenTX I am running.

I have not flashed the X9DP (old tx ) as I really am not looking to upgrade it. I am purely wanting to use all my X8R RX's with the new X9DP 2019.
Thanks

To do that click on the receiver near the binding setup and a menu pops up for checking the channel mapping.

Can't really think of anything else to check.. Are you getting telemetry back from the receiver? You should have RSSI and voltage coming back.

Another beautiful sunny day here in Melbourne Australia today with expected temp of 90 deg F. Might go and cut the grass.

Wayne,
I went into the model setup and looked at the option and receive the message "No Tx options" the receiver is bound to the TX and I am receiving Telemetry (RSSI and RX Bat Voltage)
I also include pics of the monitor screen showing that the outputs are working

Andy Several posts ago Kilrah asked you how you mapped the channels on your receiver during the binding the process, and you did not reply. So I will explain. It is possible to have two receivers operating on one radio the first receiver responding to channels 1 thru 8 and the second receiver responding to channels 9 thru 16. This is set during binding.

So when you bound your receiver one of the questions was channel 1-8 or 9-16. Did you reply to 1-8. If you are not sure re bind your receiver and select 1-8.

Henny,
When I bound the RX there were no jumpers installed across any of the pins. According to the manual for the RX that is Mode 5 (D16) which is Ch1~Ch8.
Is there somewhere else I am missing for the Channel Mappings?

Correct don't install any jumpers. In the bind process you can select which channels you want and either telemetry on or off.. This attachment is for an RX6R but the same process is for X8R.

Ok just to let you all know I finally got it working.
I reset the TX completely using firmware_x9d+2019_en_210208
Then redid the upgrades to the ISRM ver 2.1.6 on the TX and reflashed the RX's
They bound fine and now the servos are responding too.
Thanks all for the help
Regards
Andy

Hello Andy,
I have the same problem.
Please can you help me with it, I am completely newbie.
Where can I found this firmware - firmware_x9d+2019_en_210208 and how to reset it on my transmitter ?
Thanks in advance !

Prilla,
Go to https://www.frsky-rc.com/taranis-x9d-plus-se-2019/
Click the Download link next to the line that is dated 2021-02-09.
Extract the zip file once you have downloaded it.
To flash the firmware on the radio follow the steps in this video from Painless 360
There is also another video by Joshua Bardwell that may help you
You will most probably have to update the bootloader as well, video here
.
You will most probably also have to update the SD Card contents
Hope this helps
Andy
