Taranis X9D will not fully power up

So, last weekend my X9D+ 2019 suddenly just shut off as I was walking to the launch zone (ALES Competition). It would power up and the unlock screen would come on, the four bars came on one by one and the radio vibrated . . . then nothing. Took it home, made sure the battery was fully charge (no change), replaced the internal button battery (no change). Connected it to my laptop, put it in bootloader mode to connect to OpenTX Companion . . . and everything came back! Until tonight. After powering it on and off at least two dozen times in the last two days without an issue (even flew with it on Sunday), tonight it suddenly turned off again while setting up a new sailplane, and went back to not being able to get past the lock screen.

Thoughts? (other than get a new radio )

Hmm, don't recall any issues like this with the X9D. If it is going from on, and straight to off (no shutdown process), I really have to suspect something in the power delivery. Bad wire on the battery, connector or something further up the power circuit. Start simple and test with a different battery and work your way up the power lines..
