I have a SE 2019 TX that I purchased back in March of 2020 and its developed a hardware problem. Radio has very little time on it maybe 20hrs total power on time. I noticed a significant reduction in the amount of time a battery is lasting which wasn't the case when first powered up when new. Latest incident resulted in a loss of a F3F plane as the low battery warning came on and less than 30 sec later the TX shut off. Restarted the TX but turned off again immediately and I wasn't able to slow the planes decent back to earth. Battery was freshly charged.
The radio is pulling over 500mah at 8.4v and 650mah at 6.5v confirmed by running off a bench supply. Opening the radio for the first time to troubleshoot the problem I noticed that the small daughter board on the top right corner of the back board with the coax going to the sticker antenna is getting really hot. Nothing else appears to be overheating by doing the finger test. I don't currently have a FLIR camera in my shop to 100% confirm nothing else is hot. Finger test was used instead as a first pass troubleshooting technique. The chip on the daughter board is much too hot to hold your finger on it for any amount of time. I believe it is a blue tooth module for the PARA trainer feature which I don't use.
Is there a replacement back board I can purchase or can I just remove the daughter board as I don't use the PARA trainer feature? I have the ability and equipment to safely unsolder the board but want to confirm it won't mess up any other functionality other than the trainer stuff.
