Taranis X9D+2019 How to set Archer + S8R Lua gyro settings

I have open tx firmware 2.3.15 on the transmitter
The archer receiver is upgraded to 3.03
Binding is oke but i cant get the LUA 3 to work on the taranis
Its in the script and tools folder
gives error on line 27 ">" and stops
An older Lua script works 2.04 but doest store changes. You can change the setting, but after exit and a restart nothing changed.

Is it at all possible to change the gyro functions or can't i get a higher firmware for the archer then v1.0.11
This in combination with my X9D+2019 or do i have to buy a ETHOS transmitter ?

There is a later version of S8R firmware version 2.12 and the Lua script here. https://www.frsky-rc.com/download/ then click on S8R to find it.

Hi Peter
Please check: You are naming your receiver S8R. But from the description of your problem you I assume you have a SR8 Archer plus. Is that correct ????

If you have a "SR8 Archer plus" receiver :
the highest Firmwareversion you have to downgrade your receiver to is V1.0.10 (not V1.0.11 which already requires V3.0.x HF firmware). Lua scripts are v2.04.

If you really want to try V3.0.3 you would need new Lua scripts that are not available from Frsky up to now.
There's someone who took the ethos scripts vor V3.0.x and modified them to run on EdgeTx. But they only support colored screen (Horus type)
I've altered these to run on my Taranis X9D 2019, Taranis QX7 and X9Lite-S (all OpenTX 2.3.15). But I've used them only on my SR8 Archer plus and SR6 mini and it seems that they work quite well. I didn't make extensive tests with all the functions that are possible (only what I needed).
If you want to try send me a direct message.

Thanks for your reactions guys. yes, I meant i have a Archer plus SR8 and 2 of them.

One on a airplane and one new for testing. The one in my airplane = fw V1.0.10 and everything works fine on lua 2.04
The other is new and not yet in a model. I flashed it to V3.0.3.
It binds correctly but lua 2.04 on the transmitter doesn't store the settings for the gyro like whith the fw1.0.10 on the rx.

I will send Alois a message in private

And again thank you very much for your replies

I will try to get it working with the V3.0.3 on my spare rx and let you know

YESSSS !(y)
This is the working version for me, thank you very much 🎉🥳🛩️

This will enable me to set my gyro on all my models on the archer plus SR8 FW V3.0.3
This on my Taranis X9D Plus SE 2019

I tested it according to the readme file as under:

1. To calibrate, select the script "calibrateV3.lua" and start it with "execute." (Proceed as generally described by Frsky.)
2. Select the script "setupV3.lua" and start it with "execute."
Important: You should actually execute the "Reset Start" command at the beginning. Especially if you have performed a firmware update,
the old settings should be reset.
(It is best to use the description from Ethos. Some of the terms had to be shortened due to the short line length.)
3. Select the script "stickCalibrateV3.lua" and start it with "execute."
(Important: You must actually execute all six command lines.
This script replaces the previous self-test and is much more transparent and therefore easier to use.)

My test report:
1 : Works fine only the bmp pictures how you must hold the rx are not so clear but was also the problem with v2.
The archer plus SR8 has 6 channels connectors on the left and 2 channels on the right + sbus out and sbus in.
I assumed the pins up is the channels 1 - 6 connector up. Completed calibration to the end.
Maybe i can change the bmp's myself to get it more clear. No problem (i think).

2: I'll changed the gyro directions to the proper settings and you see that it updates the settings with the bar on the top.
Works fine now ! i am most pleased with this program. It is easy to use and with the 4 menu's i have even more options
then before. You can swipe up and down with every menu. Works fine to. Even a wind corection option. Very nice.

3: All 6 points done - worked fine
I only dont understand why they speak of gyro 1 and gyro 2. Has this receiver 2 gyro's inside ?
Sorry if i didn't get that

I am soon going to try this in my models and going to play with all those settings

Super thanks !

Hello
Thank you for for testing and giving feedback.
The mentioned pictures of the receiver are the original pictures of Frsky. I think this is the best resolution you can get wit the X9D.
On smaller screens (like xlite, x8Lite or QX7) the pictures are not visible at all.
Concerning Gyro 1 and Gyro 2: I do not know myself. I never used this. I did only alter the existing Luas to run on Black and White screens (OpenTx and likely EdgeTx).
But I think there is only one physical gyro and the headline means that there are two groups of channels to be set up.
Regards Alois
