Taranis X-Lite Pro: Internal Crossfire Mode

2xWhiskey

New User
Hello,

I am trying to adapt the TX_SX1280_Minimal project from Github to make a DIY plug and play replacement to the ISRM RF Module on the Taranis X-Lite Pro using a custom PCB. Unfortunately I have been unable to make it work so far. I would like to request the pinout information for the 15 pin connector for the internal RF module, and if possible some advice. My current deduction of the pinout, which is possibly incorrect:

1.) unknown
2.) unknown
3.) 5V
4.) 5V
5.) GND
6.) 3.3V
7.) 3.3V
8.) unknown
9.) 3.3V
10.) S. Port
11.) GND
12.) Potentiometer 1, middle pin
13.) Potentiometer 2, middle pin
14.) Potentiometer 1 and 2, right pins
15.) Potentiometer 1 and 2, left pins

My current design uses pins 3-5,10-15:
- 3 and 4 to supply 5V to a switching regulator to supply 3.3V to the board. (Previously I tried pins 6 and 9, but I believe they were being overloaded because they only showed 0.5V under load.)
- 5 and 11 for GND
- 10 for communication
- 12-15 to retain S1 and S2 functionality

I have flashed the ISRM v1.1.3 firmware provided by FrSky, and have selected CRSF for the Internal RF under the HARDWARE menu trying both 115k and 400k baud rates. I am also using Edge TX, version 2.7.1.

If anyone can point out any errors they see, it would be a great help. Thank you in advance. Once I get this project successfully working I intend to share it on the ExpressLRS Github.

I’ve been wanting to do the same to my xlite but I have no idea how to create a pcb board. Did you ever found out the correct pinout?
