Taranis antenna coaxial cable type?

Hello,

I'm thinking about modding an antenna connector onto my X9D+ to allow me to swap antennas. I've got the tools to crimp connectors to most of the common types of coaxial cable, and I suspect I'd be better served by re-terminating the existing cable instead of trying to solder a new one on, as I'm not sure about potential SWR issues if the new solder joint's impedance isn't quite right. What size is the cable?

I'll warn you that you are going down a road that was well travelled. In fact FrSky even released the radio with this exact feature. They all had issues and the result was usually the same, poor range and a much greater chance of damaging the RF chip as sooner or later everyone seems to turn on the radio without an antenna load present. This will damage the chip instantly.

The biggest issue seemed to be that the added connector always had an effect on the SWR. In stock form Frsky has everything tuned very well. Adding connectors adds problems on the X9D+.

At Aloft we do not recommend this mod. It has a long history of damaged radios.
