Hi all,
I love the new Ares XL from Twisted Hobbys.
However, I hate the sound (just can't stand it). I posted a hare-brained idea in the Ares XL thread on RCG (chop the nose and move the entire motor+prop to the front) and the rep from TH pointed me to this thread as something to explore before performing any major surgery:

After checking it out, I thought it might be of interest to some of you here, as the noise of pushers, and worse, of prop-in-slot planes, really limits their utility. I can't fly such noisy planes at any of my local parks or flying fields because it would annoy the daylights out of everyone.
If you have insights or tips or ways of taming a prop-in-slot plane's noise, I'd love to hear them. I'm keen to make the Ares XL tolerable... because apart from the noise it seems pretty amazing.
Thanks!
