Super mega long Twisty

We had a cheapy diode laser to play with while waiting for our CO2. It worked pretty well and will easily cut balsa and lite plywood. No idea on the brand, something from Amazon. But the diode lasers do make a lot of smoke and really need to be watched for safety. Get a good pair of glasses and then test that they actually block the laser light.

Yeah my diode laser cut thru a lot of thinner stuff. You really gotta do your research though. A lot of them (all of them?) come from china IE they dont always put accurate statistics. I would go watch youtube videos. But you probably could get something in the $200-300 range with a good cutting area. It will probably take multiple passes to cut thru even balsa though fyi.
You can get a cheaper, smaller, CO2. Think its around the $400-500.

The cutting size is about 8x12 so you could cut out ribs and parts. You can also upgrade the laser later to a more powerful tube. Thats what i did on my omtech 12x20 laser. I went from a 40w (probably 30w) to a legit 60w. I purchased an extension box as it sticks out of my case. The more watts the longer the tube.

Their are a lot of youtube videos on those smaller co2 units.
