Sunset build thread for everyone

Yes, these are a very small free flight glider, but I'd argue that they make a much better RC plane than the Lidle.

Usually a free flight conversion still has a lot of "free flight" habits in the finished plane. The Mini Solius seems to fly great as both an RC conversion but also as a free flight.

We got a case of these in a while back and most were built up by the staff and some local customers long before they had a chance to be put up on the site. Then we culd not get more of the white versions. Well, Mr Multiplex has stepped up for us and ordered a bunch of the white ones a month or so ago. I do hope we will get them in before the build season is over. The RC conversion takes about 1 night. The end result is the perfect silly and fun plan for Sunset. Can't be hurt, great fun for silly combat, flies in light to rather heavy conditions, etc. And they are cheap and tiny. Good travel planes too.
I'm in for one if they come in in time.

Looks to be flying better than most other Rogallo attempts I have seen. Well done!

We like fabric planes here..

@Hawaii Sloper had some interest in purchasing my Sequoia, so after pulling it down from the ceiling and looking it closer, I realized what a nice plane it is and how close it is to being done, I should really finish it. So I jumped on it and replaced the flap servo. Need to put some sort of servo covers on it, but the wings are done. When I originally got my kit, it came with 2 left elevator horns. Extra's weren't available at the time so I just used some MP Jet brass horns. Need to run the pushrods, glue in the radio tray and its done. Whew, one down.

For my son's Tucano PSS, I have the wings sheeted, will get them joined in the next few days then on to fiber glassing it.

My 100" VTPR build, I'm still gathering parts. I've received wing tubes, laser cut my foam core templates and am currently 3D printing stab root rids with joiner pockets. I intend to put a "MadStab" on this plane what features 180 degree throw on the all moving tail. Hoping to do wild flips.

So. I have a decent start! Digging around in my kit stash, I forgot I have a MicroSR kit that purchased from Mark Grand last year, and cut files, plans, pilot and hardware for a SG-38 primary glider. Too many choices! No idea what I will show up with.

Of course as soon as i get motivated to work on my super mega twisty build i immediately run out clear film. I had enough to do that tail but thats it. But i did get the foam blocked up for the 6ft surfboard glider. I need to screw the airfoil templates on the sides and hot cut it out next.

Red - Glad you are keeping the Sequoia. Really like those planes. No idea why they do not sell better. Great price, great proportions.

I brought some models from my house to the shop for build night. Does that count?

That’s a beautiful plane. I’m glad your keeping it and will get to enjoy it. I’ll be excited to see it at sunset
