SR10Pro Rx just arrived - want to test ACCESS without updating my many D16 RXs yet - ISRM backout possible?

Hi, new here! Loved my Taranis X9D for many years but wanted better range with D16 Rxs and sailplanes up high. Went with Horus X10S Express and did get better range but have waited till stabilization arrived before trying ACCESS out.

So; I see I have to flash my ISRM module (would appreciate a pointer to where to find right module) to try out the range from ACCESS. But, I don't want to update all my D16s just yet (again, I'd appreciate a pointer to RX firmware - FrSky site?) As you can probably tell I'm no flashing expert so am a bit twitchy.

If I flash the ISRM module and try out ACCESS, can I flash it back to the currently installed version? (I think I did that original install/update with companion) The ISRM module says V1.

I would be very grateful for some guidance.

The X10S Express has both D16 and ACCESS as standard. So if your ISRM is still at V1 ( V1.1.3) it can also be upgraded to V2. I have been using the ISRM V2.1.0 for some time and it has been without incident. ISRM V2 also still supports both D16 and ACCESS. If you do flash your ISRM to V2 you will have to flash receivers to v2.1.X as well. You can go back to ISRM V1.1.3 but why would you. Remember if you do use ACCESS to change the RSSI to 32 and 35 db in the telemetry warning setting. D16 stays at 42 and 45 db. The ARCHER receivers only support ACCESS protocols however these receivers R-XSR | RX4R | RX6R | G-RX6 | G-RX8 support both ACCESS and D16 but require to be flashed with either D16 or ACCESS firmware. I find the range to be very good. Go to the FRsky web site download page and select the firmware you need. remember to select FCC in the case of D16 for North America.

Well answered.. I need to do the same with my new X-lite. I'll have to do this one of these nights.. Once you get going it is not bad, they all go pretty quick. The first one has the learning curve.

OK., just updated my Horus X10S Express ISRM to V2. Downloaded SxR FWs and am about to try to update my Rxs. Do I still have to modify a servo cable with the Horus X10? There is a servo socket on the back - do I reverse the power on the lead still? (Only found pics of Taranis)

No the X10S has the correct polarity with a futaba style socket with the tab on the rear in the USB connector. Only the old version of the Taranis used the external JR module bay and this required reversing the + and - wires.

Sorry chaps - need more help. I hooked an unpowered S8R's S.Port to the Horus with a regular servo cable observing polarity. I'd downloaded S8R_ACCST_2.1.0_FCC.frk to the SD card and executed it, and Flash S.Port device. Got one red flash, and a Firmware Update Error - device not responding.

** Update - it worked 3rd time! ** well, I was trying it again to make sure I got the exact error code and it worked.. writing...Flash successful. Odd - everything was the same.
** Update 2 ** - I was expecting to have to re-calibrate and re-config the S6R but after the clickety-click and dance, all stabilization seems as it should be :)

Going great - thanks for all the help.:):) Nearly all my D16s done now - and even a few X4Rs in foamies.
Now, I'm about to start on the Archers (SR8s and SR10s) - I'd like to swap them in for S8R's that have extra channels with 2 SBus extenders each. Do these work just the same with the Archers?
