Spars: First rib = 1 and Last rib = 1 error first rib is not in front of last rib ?

Hello

I just bought the license to support this great software.
A basic (unusual) 30 degrees forward swept (X-29) ribs, no problem to set First rib = 1 and Last rib = 1 for a spar

But for final wing project (no error from here):
ok.JPG

Set for Spar #5 'T2' Last to 1 gives
notok.JPG

Only solution to have no error is to split rib 1 in two and than use the
required first rib = 1 and Last rib = 2 (just split). Hum, I will not use/cut this 'fake' split rib 2.

PS: Then Trying to remove 'fake' split rib gives again "The first rib is not in front of the last rib".

Full project looks like this (with the fake split rib, not removable without the error above)

Spar Round joiner First rib = 1 and Last rib = 2 : ok
When changing Last rib 2 to 1 : error
fixed.JPG

1) !!! Remove 'Joiner' !!! (if was a joiner), use round instead of Round Joiner, same for cuboid
2) Set separate end, give same value as line above
Then no error after click 'Ok' to exit Spars.

With a simple example, Round joiner

now change Last rib from 2 to 1: error

I think this error is a logic error in the software, in this case there should be no error.

After error, first change Round Joiner to Round, then click Separated end, then click 90 deg.

Than change Last Rib 2 to 1 : no error

Click Ok.

Hello pju,

I am sorry for the late answer - I don't read here regularly, unfortunately.

What you have found is not very intuitive, but unfortunately a necessary by-product of the "joiner" type of spars. If you have a spar of a type "joiner", you must have that spar span at least 2 ribs - otherwise the algorithms can' calculate the position correctly (the joiner spars are always at 90 degree and horizontal with respect to the V-Shape).

If you need only a hole in the rib, please use the "Round" spar instead.

I hope this helps!

Kind regards,

Alex Pozgaj.
