SMT soldering station

Soldering guns - For the record I never bought one of those things, but been forced to use them at other peoples places.. Wiring up cars or trailers.. Horrible!!

Question for you guys - How do you get a good clean finish when shrinking large heat shrink material onto something like a large battery pack? Heat gun is not resulting in very nice results. We have been making some custom batteries for folks and would like a nice finished product.

Many thanks!

Start on the outside edges and work towards the center?
No hit in the center to kinda lock it in place all around the pack then work from the center out i found that certain color shrink wrap takes a different heat range don't know why hope this helps

Not all shrink tubing is created equal.... I had some that could not 'shrink' at all. Had some that would only shrink less then half of advertised diameter (too loose).

There is a huge difference in heat shrink tubing and heat shrink wrap.

I go the other way. I lock each end of the pack first to get that nice end look. Then rotate the pack heating from the center out. Heat these plastics work best with "too much" heat and really don't respond well to re-heating after cool down. Try to get the result you want the first time.
