What is the smallest footprint, minimum six channel, receiver that can be used within an FR sky dual frequency transmitter? The receivers that are listed as”horus” - are they totally compatible with FrSky tandem transmitters? Thank you.

The are a number of different series of receivers. 2.4gig, and Tandem receivers, being 2.4 and 900meg receivers. A standard 2.4 gig can be the G series meaning it also has a barometer for height telemetry often used in gliders. A standard 2.4 gig 6 channel small receiver is the the Archer Plus R6 model. This receiver has 6 PWM servo connectors.
The Tandem dual-band receivers are unlike any other FrSky 2.4Ghz or 900Mhz receivers, they work simultaneously at both 900Mhz and 2.4Ghz frequencies. That means Tandem receivers provide not only the low latency signal and long-range control, but also benefit from an enhanced level of reliability...

The TDMX is smaller, but need to use a serial bus servo (or similar) to get the 6 channels.
Smallest 6 channel on just the 2.4 band with 6 channels are the following:

Any of these will talk with your Tandem radio and work very well. If you really need small, then this is probably your better options. The 900mhz antenna on the TD-R6 is pretty massive thing to hide away in a small plane.

These days most people are using either a Tandem or an Archer based receiver. Tandem is dual frequency, great for larger models. The Archer line is popular as it costs less, works better for tighter airframes and is still very reliable.
