Small is big?

We have been playing with some small power systems for future projects.

We are working on a folding prop setup that weighs in at about 2 ounces but delivers around 15 ounces of thrust. This 2 ounces includes the spinner, blades, motor and esc/bec. On something like the mini Wanderer, you end up with too much power. LOL

A little different configuration and we are looking at 75mph airframe speeds for a small speed ship.

We have had some interesting ideas of different configurations for these motors ranging from very long endurance airframes, micro pylon racers, and well, everything in between.

I have never played much with adding prop blades. I expected to see thrust climb a considerable amount, but on these little props (less than 6 inches), extra blades just added more drag for the motor to turn, the thrust gain was VERY small.

Will play some more, and will be making more flights. Thought it would be fun to share.
