Small folding props

Hammer

New User
I have a hard time finding small (6" or less) props. With the recent popularity of F5K, and smaller E-gliders of all sorts, it seems there is a need for small folders. Aloft carries the Super S folders, but stops at the 7" mark. It would be great to have a stateside option for these little jewels.

If you are aware of a manufacturer that is producing smaller folding props, or any size folding props, just let us know.

We do not offer a couple of the high end hand laid folding prop brands, one has an exclusive deal with a dealer in the USA, and we have not had many requests for these very expensive blades, so have not looked too closely at them. (RFM, etc) We have also debated stocking some other brands of folding spinners, but think our current offering covers most needs pretty well. Again, we could jump into the super expensive side of the market, but think stocking would be difficult as some of those have such a tiny market..

What are your thoughts?

We currently have a rather large selection of quality props for fixed wing aircraft. APC, Aeronaut, Super S for folding and normal. They are all made in the USA or Europe with the occasional exception like the GWS props. With APC we offer one of the larger offers of gas and electric props of any small shop. Sadly the gas props sell very poorly. Why do we sell these props? They are all really good props and offer a fair price. They all offer good and reliable performance.

If you have ever lost a prop in flight, you will understand why I am selective of the brands we sell.

Page 4 has the really small prop/spinner units.

Hollein carries these, but also has a €67 Covid surcharge on shipping.

This is the one 3 of us have been using for about a year with no problem. The blades are Super S 4.7x2.4. I didn't realize Super S(Schulze) made spinners also, and thought it was Pichler. The set screws screw into the plastic hub, and tighten to the shaft to hold it all on. That was my only concern, though it's not been a problem. We are using a very low power level.

Looks like the Graupner prop for some Spee 300 motor. I never could get much power to the prop as those set screws and the plastic hub would fail allowing the yoke to just spin on the shaft.

Yes, we carry this brand here, they were the manufacturer for Graupner until Graupner went bankrupt.

We can stock these in the future, but was not in love with the design. I always assume people are going to over power any prop.
