Small E-Glider?

Considering putting together a small e-glider, with the "new" laser cut kits I think even I could puzzle one together. (Bear in mind my last balsa glider from scratch was a Windward in 1972 :))

Local park flying (El Dorado Park) and slope (Bluff Park) (both in SoCal) Was toying between the Mini Wanderer and the Micro Gentle Lady...then I came across the J&H Micro Bird of Time. Decisions, decisions...

NOT looking forward to covering, other than a few foam wings like the Zagi - haven't done that since 1972 (and I wasn't all that good at it back then)

Oh, I think you will be alright. We have tried to make our models very forgiving and enjoyable to build. If you look at some of the reviews you will get the idea. Knowing you a bit I'd suggest the Mini Wanderer. It is very easy, and will be your favorite plane at Bluff Park.

p.s. You still got your ugly Jeep? :) Sadly I have not had a "good" 4x4 for a very long time. Just a Nissan Xterra these days, and an old Scout project collecting rust.

I think the Mini Wanderer is a great way to get your feet wet. As for covering I would not fret over a few wrinkles. If you fly it on a regular basis things will happen. Trees can walk right in front of you on final approach. 😃

Sold the Jeep to a buddy of mine probably 15+ years ago :)

Good looking bird! Tree's jumping in front of gliders I can handle. Now cows wandering onto the airfield when I'm trying to land a full scale - 'nother story entirely :)

I got an email about this thread. Jeff, they wanted you to know that the Bird of Time, while it looks good will be a tougher build, and more annoying to cover. The Mini Wanderer is also running a modern airfoil that performs great.

I'm watching all of Radio Flite's YouTube videos of the Wander build right now
